Abstract Ferroptosis, a novel form of programmed cell death, is characterized by iron-dependent lipid peroxidation and has been shown to be involved in multiple diseases, including cancer. Stimulating ferroptosis cancer cells may potential strategy for therapy. Therefore, ferroptosis-inducing drugs are attracting more attention treatment. Here, we showed that erianin, natural product isolated from Dendrobium chrysotoxum Lindl , exerted its anticancer activity inducing death inhibiting...

Background and Purpose: RAS mutations limit the effectiveness of anti-epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) monoclonal antibodies in combination with chemotherapy for metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) patients. Therefore, new cell death forms have focused on identifying indirect targets to inhibit Ras-induced oncogenesis. Recently, emerging evidence has shown potential triggering ferroptosis therapy, particularly eradicating aggressive malignancies that are resistant traditional...

The tracking and recognition of facial activities from images or videos have attracted great attention in computer vision field. Facial are characterized by three levels. First, the bottom level, feature points around each component, i.e., eyebrow, mouth, etc., capture detailed face shape information. Second, middle action units, defined coding system, represent contraction a specific set muscles, lid tightener, eyebrow raiser, etc. Finally, top six prototypical expressions global muscle...

Abstract Hydrogels have emerged as promising materials for the construction of skin-like mechanical sensors. The common design hydrogel-based artificial skin requires a dielectric sandwiched between two hydrogel layers capacitive sensing. However, such planar configuration limits sensitivity, stretchability and self-healing properties. Here, we report single-layer composite hydrogels with bulk junctions We engineer peptide-coated graphene (PCG) to serve homogenously dispersed electric double...

Abstract The rapid development of artificial intelligence technology has led to the urge for optoelectronic synapses with visual perception and memory capabilities. A new type synapse, namely a photoelectric memcapacitor, is proposed demonstrated. This planar Au/La 1.875 Sr 0.125 NiO 4 /Au metal–semiconductor–metal structure, displays complementary optical electrical modulation capacitance, which can be attributed charge trapping/detrapping‐induced Schottky barrier variation. It further...

The increasing miniaturization of electronics requires a better understanding material properties at the nanoscale. Many studies have shown that there is ferroelectric size limit in oxides, below which ferroelectricity will be strongly suppressed due to depolarization field, and whether such still exists absence field remains unclear. Here, by applying uniaxial strain, we obtain pure in-plane polarized ultrathin SrTiO_{3} membranes, providing clean system with high tunability explore effects...

Abstract 5-Fluorouracil (5-FU) is known as a first-line chemotherapeutic agent against colorectal cancer (CRC), but drug resistance occurs frequently and significantly limits its clinical success. Our previous study showed that the protocadherin 17 ( PCDH17 ) gene was methylated functioned tumor suppressor in CRC. However, relationship between 5-FU CRC remains unclear. Here, we revealed more highly expressed 5-FU-sensitive tissues than 5-FU-resistant tissues, high expression of correlated...

Two-dimensional (2D) ferroelectrics refer to those with layered structure and weak interlayer interactions (e.g., van de Waals coupling). A number of basic physical issues in the framework ferroelectricity deserve clarifications, one them is size effect regarding dependence on material thickness.
