Three new diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP) compounds are shown to be colorimetric and ratiometric red fluorescent sensors for fluoride anions with high sensitivity selectivity. The recognition mechanism is attributed the intermolecular proton transfer between a hydrogen atom on lactam N positions of DPP moiety anion.

Two new near-infrared chemodosimeters for cyanide anion based on 5,10-dihexyl-5,10-dihydrophenazine were designed and synthesized. With dicyano-vinyl groups as the recognition site electron-withdrawing both sides, probe 1 exhibited an intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) absorption band at 545 nm emission 730 nm, respectively, thus showed ICT block process realized "on-off" response after bilateral reaction with anions in CH₃CN. Probe 2 utilized unreactive formyl group instead of one two...

Background Increasing evidence implicates the critical roles of epigenetic regulation in cancer. Very recent reports indicate that global gene silencing cancer is associated with specific modifications. However, relationship between switches and more dynamic patterns activation repression has remained largely unknown. Methodology/Principal Findings Genome-wide profiling trimethylation histone H3 lysine 4 (H3K4me3) 27 (H3K27me3) was performed using chromatin immunoprecipitation coupled whole...

Significance The Wnt (wingless)/β-catenin signaling pathway is an attractive target for cancer therapy. However, known inhibitors are still far from clinical use. Here we report that the clinically approved drug axitinib strongly inhibits Wnt/β-catenin in vitro and vivo. In particular, a phenotype of inhibition called “Wnt asymmetry” was revealed axitinib-treated cells. identification E3 ubiquitin ligase SHPRH (SNF2, histone-linker, PHD RING finger domain-containing helicase) as functional...

MicroRNAs play critical roles in tumorigenesis and metastasis. Here, we report the dual functions of miR-182 miR-203 our previously described prostate cell model. MiR-182 were completely repressed during epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) from EP156T cells progeny nontransformed EPT1 cells. Re-expression or cancer PC3 induced (MET) features. Simultaneously, provided with ability self-sufficiency growth signals, a well-recognized oncogenic feature. Gene expression profiling showed...

How prostate cancer is initiated remains a topic of debate. In an effort to establish human model carcinogenesis, we adapted premalignant EPT2-D5 cells protein-free medium generate numerous tight spheres (D5HS) in monolayer culture. contrast cells, the newly generated D5HS efficiently formed large subcutaneous tumors and subsequent metastases vivo, showing tumorigenicity spheres. A striking production interleukin (IL)-6 mRNA protein was found cells. The essential roles IL-6 downstream STAT3...

Fast pyrolysis is commonly used in industrial reactors to convert waste tires into fine chemicals and fuels. However, current thermogravimetric analyzers are facing limitations that prevent the acquisition of kinetic information. To better understand reaction kinetics, we designed a novel thermo-balance device was capable in-situ weight measurement during rapid heating. The results showed rate substantially increased, with significant reductions time apparent activation energy compared slow...

Previously we reported extensive gene expression reprogramming during epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) of primary prostate cells. Here investigated the hypothesis that specific histone and DNA methylations are involved in coordination EMT. Genome-wide profiling (H3K4me3 H3K27me3) methylation (DNAMe) was applied three cell lines at different stages a stepwise model involving EMT subsequent accumulation malignant features. Integrated analyses epigenetic promoter modifications changes...
