Abstract Numerous comorbidities and cofactors have been known to influence wound healing processes. In this multicentre study, clinical data of 1 000 patients with chronic leg ulcers from ten specialised dermatological care centers were analysed. The patient cohort comprised 567 females 433 males an average age 69·9 years. wounds persisted on for 40·8 months had a mean size 43·7 cm 2 . Venous represented the most common entity accounting 51·3% all wounds, followed by mixed‐type in 12·9%...

The treatment of different skin conditions with spa waters is a long tradition dating back to at least late Hellenism. Interestingly, independent scientific examinations studying the effect are scarce. In present in vitro study, we compared culture media supplemented (a) thermal (La Roche-Posay, Avène) and (b) two natural mineral drinking (Heppinger, Adelholzener) on physiological parameters HaCaT keratinocytes. The medium preparations were investigated regard cell proliferation damage....

Optimizing the treatment regimens of extensive or nonhealing defects is a constant challenge. Tissue-cultured skin autografts may be an alternative to mesh grafts and keratinocyte suspensions that are applied during surgical defect coverage.Autologous epidermal dermal cells were isolated, in vitro expanded seeded on collagen-elastin scaffolds. The developed autograft was immunohistochemically electron microscopically characterized. Subsequently, it transplanted onto lesions severely burned...

Abnormalities of the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) antigens by tumour cells impair cellular immune response and promote evasion from surveillance. So far, studies analysing MHC class II expression levels in head neck cancer have been limited. Therefore, we investigated constitutive interferon (IFN)-gamma-regulated profiles antigen processing machinery (APM) various cell lines also analysed lesions.Using immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain...

Abstract Background Adipose‐derived stem cells ( ASC ) are known to transdifferentiate into a wide range of different cell species in vitro including along the epidermal lineage. This property makes them promising tool for regenerative medicine restore barrier. Objective study is dedicated identify conditions enabling transdifferentiation keratinocyte‐like phenotype. In particular, impact culture (media compositions, 2D, 3D cultures) and extracellular matrix ECM molecules was evaluated....

Recent evidence suggests that dimethylfumarate (DMF), known as a highly potent anti-psoriatic agent, might have anti-tumorigenic properties in melanoma. It has recently been demonstrated DMF inhibits melanoma proliferation by apoptosis and cell cycle inhibition therefore metastasis. Nonetheless, the underlying mechanisms remain to be evaluated. To elucidate effects of on lines (A375, SK-Mel), we first performed cytotoxicity assays. No significant lactatedehydogenase (LDH) release could...
