Abstract Plasmonic enhancement of fluorescence from SYBR Green I conjugated with a double‐stranded DNA (dsDNA) amplicon is demonstrated on polymerase chain reaction (PCR) products. Theoretical computation leads to use the bimetallic (Au 2 nm–Ag 50 nm) surface plasmons due larger local fields (higher quality factors) than monometallic (Ag or Au) ones at both dye excitation and emission wavelengths simultaneously, optimizing plasmon coupled (SPCE). Two kinds reverse Kretschmann configurations...

The development of improved methods for the synthesis monodisperse gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) is high priority because they can be used as substrates surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) applications relating to biological lipids. Herein, Au NPs have been successfully synthesized via a seed-mediated growth method. LSPR peak controlled adjusting nanoseed component, and different fabrication were studied establish effect sonication time on NP size. simple, facile, room-temperature method...

We reported the fluorescence sensor of carbon dots (CDs) synthesized for highly sensitive and selective detection bilirubin in human urine. High-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) images showed that CDs have a spherical shape with mean particle size 2.6 nm. The fluorescent emission, which peaked at wavelength 511 nm under excitation 435 CDs' emission intensity reduced increasing concentration, was ascribed to strong inner filter effect (IFE). excellent spectral match between...

A simple all-optical logic device, composed of an SOA and optical filter, is proposed. By utilising filtering, multi-logic functions (AND, OR XOR) are demonstrated at 10 Gbit/s using the same setup, under different operation conditions. Simulations indicate that device can operate much higher bit rate.

We investigate nonlinear carrier dynamics in a multiquantum-well semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) the context of ultrafast all-optical logic. A rate-equation model is presented that accounts for two-photon absorption, free-carrier self- and cross phase modulation, heating, spectral, spatial hole burning, polarization modulation. The refractive index investigated theoretically experimentally. find changes larger than /spl pi/ radians, which recovers on timescale order 1 ps. also AND gate...

We present the immunoassay of tau proteins (total and phosphorylated tau) in human sera using surface plasmon resonance (SPR) fiber sensors. This assay aimed at harvesting advantages both SPR sensors a blood-based to demonstrate label-free point-of-care-testing (POCT) patient-friendly compact format for early diagnosis Alzheimer's disease (AD). For conducting assay, we used 40 subjects divided into halves, which were grouped AD patients control groups according number neuropsychological...

Carbon dots (CDs) doped with heteroatoms have garnered significant interest due to their chemically modifiable luminescence properties. Herein, nitrogen- and sulfur-codoped carbon (NS-CDs) were successfully prepared using p-phenylenediamine thioacetamide via a facile process. The as-developed NS-CDs had high photostability against photobleaching, good water dispersibility, excitation-independent spectral emission properties the abundant amino sulfur functional groups on surface....
