Double-gate single-electron transistors (SETs) were fabricated by chemical assembling using electroless gold-plated nanogap electrodes and chemisorbed chemically synthesized gold nanoparticles. The SET showed periodic stable Coulomb oscillations under application of voltages both gates. sole also exhibited all two-input logic operations-XOR, XNOR, NAND, OR, NOR, AND-with an on/off ratio 10(2). This demonstrates the potential to give highly SETs exhibiting operations.

In 2020, the Japan Diabetes Society (JDS) adopted a sweeping decision to release consensus statements on relevant issues in diabetes management that require updating from time and launched ‘JDS Committee Consensus Statement Development’. These are intended present committee's take based evidence currently available for each of addressed. It is thus hoped practicing diabetologists will never fail consult these provide best practice their respective clinical settings. Of note, while as many...

Single-electron transistors have the potential to become next-generation nanodevices and sensors owing their small size, low power consumption, high charge sensitivity, where charging energy of devices is most important parameter determining operational temperature. Here, we demonstrated that single-electron can be controlled (48 ± 4 meV) by adopting electroless gold plating make separation-defined nanogap electrodes employing size-controlled chemically synthesized Au nanoparticles (5.2 0.5...

Aims: To assess the efficacy and safety of combination therapy with sitagliptin low dosage sulphonylureas on glycaemic control insulin secretion capacity in Japanese type 2 diabetes. Methods: Eighty-two subjects were sequentially recruited for 52-week, prospective, single arm study. Sitagliptin was added to (glimepride or gliclazide) without metformin. The primary endpoint a change A1C. secondary endpoints changes BMI, capacity, blood pressure urinary albumin excretion, unresponsive rate,...

Abstract Background Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) with pathogenic mutations has been found in patients cognitive disorders. However, little is known about whether mtDNA and the resultant mitochondrial respiration deficiencies contribute to expression of alterations, such as impairments learning memory. To address this point, we used two groups trans -mitochondrial mice (mito-mice) heteroplasmy for wild-type pathogenically deleted (Δ) mtDNA; "low" group carried 50% or less ΔmtDNA, "high" more...

Abstract Aims/Introduction: Gastric inhibitory polypeptide (GIP) and glucagon‐like peptide‐1 (GLP‐1) are the major incretins; their secretion after various nutrient loads well‐evaluated in Caucasians. However, little is known of relationship between incretin differing nutritional loading Japanese subjects. In present study, we evaluated GIP GLP‐1 subjects with normal glucose tolerance (NGT) (75 g 17 glucose) meal ingestion. Materials Methods: A total 10 NGT participated 75 oral test (OGTT),...

Aim Walking speed and grip strength are parameters of muscle function; however, evaluating walking is not always available in clinical practice. We aimed to investigate the impact on evaluation dysfunction chronic liver disease (CLD) patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Methods enrolled 107 consecutive CLD HCC this study (age 76 years [range 60–92 years]; female/male 39/68; body mass index 22.9 20.0–25.3]; hepatitis/liver cirrhosis 25/82). Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is a prominent occurring in approximately 25% of the general population. As treatment, lifestyle modification essential, but there are few reports on dietary patterns associated with MASLD except for Mediterranean diet. This study examines habits related to using fatty index (FLI). Longitudinal analysis community-based cohort, Nagahama Prospective Cohort Comprehensive Human Bioscience, was performed. Dietary were assessed by...

The structures of nanomaterials determine their individual properties and the suprastructures they can form. Introducing anisotropic shapes and/or interaction sites to isotropic nanoparticles has been proposed extend functionality possible suprastructure motifs. Because symmetric anisotropy, Platonic solids with regular polygon faces are one most promising nanoscale structures.
