Using a laser-scribed (direct printing) technique, we have fabricated an enzymeless, mediatorless, and paper-interfaced electrochemical device (P-LSG) for uric acid detection on flexible polyimide sheet. Various paper substrates were investigated, it was found that Whatman filter paper-1 is promising to obtain the best signals at small volume of electrolyte, i.e., 20 μL. Furthermore, modified with gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) improve electrocatalytic activity P-LSG device. The AuNP-modified...
Abstract Background: Within 20 years, cardiovascular disease (CVD), which is currently the main cause of death in Indian subcontinent, expected to overtake all other causes South Asia. Acute coronary syndrome (ACS), a critical form CVD, associated with multiple risk factors including hyperlipidemia. While triglyceride-rich lipoproteins (TRLs) and their remnants are well-studied traditional markers such as low-density lipoprotein (LDL-C) high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C), new...
e18046 Background: Head and neck cancer (HNC) is often driven by genetic alterations, particularly co-occurring mutations in TP53 gene key proliferation pathways. Offering continuous low-dose treatment (Oral metronomic chemotherapy) has shown potential improving survival outcomes minimizing toxicity while also targeting cellular molecular drivers. However, of HNC remains challenging due to factors such as tumor heterogeneity, late-stage diagnosis, resistance. Recurrence the presence residual...
ABSTRACT Background Recently a severe form of COVID-19 infection has been described in cluster children presenting as multisystem inflammatory condition. One the important spectrum this condition is incomplete Kawasaki disease (KD). Case report A 5-month-old male child presented with high-spiking fever for 5 days skin rash, bilateral non-purulent conjunctivitis and irritability. His C-reactive protein was markedly elevated (215.4 mg/l). Echocardiography revealed dilated left main coronary...
To evaluate the role of ultrasound during initial fluid resuscitation along with clinical guidance in reducing incidence overload on day 3 children septic shock. It was a prospective, parallel limb open-labeled randomized controlled superiority trial done PICU government-aided tertiary care hospital Eastern India. Patient enrolment took place between June 2021 and March 2022. Fifty-six aged 1 month 12 years, proven or suspected shock, were to receive either ultrasound-guided clinically guided...
With the advancement of pediatric critical care services across India, many children require prolonged mechanical ventilation (MV), and tracheostomy is recommended to them. However, intensivists have concerns regarding safety, feasibility, outcome tracheostomy. We aimed analyze clinical characteristics, indication, duration, tracheostomized with respect timing conducted a retrospective study from hospital database consecutive patients below 12 years who had undergone after admission into...
Background: Nephropathic infantile cystinosis, the most common cause of renal Fanconi syndrome, presents in early infancy with impaired growth, polyuria and polydipsia, progresses to end stage disease during first decade. Diagnosis is based on corneal examination for cystine crystals, leukocyte content genetic testing CTNS gene. Information clinical features genotype Indian children cystinosis limited. Methods: We describe features, outcomes variants gene cystinosis. Results: included 19...
Introduction: Serum ferritin has emerged as an independent marker predicting the outcome of critically ill patients. The cutoff value in mortality septic children is not well established. Objective: aim to determine which is, best predictive patients with age from 1 month 12 years a diagnosis shock or severe sepsis and evaluate correlation PRISM III score, Pediatric Logistic Organ Dysfunction score (PELODS).Materials Methods: A prospective observational study was conducted over period 2 at...
Abstract Introduction Pediatric oncology patients presumably are one of the most vulnerable groups during this ongoing coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Not only they immunocompromised thanks to their inherent and treatment regimens, but delay in initiation maintenance pandemic era also poses great concern. But magnitude effect on pediatric has not been well established due paucity data. Objective This study was proposed assess clinicoepidemiological profile outcome who were...
Hashimoto’s encephalopathy (HE) is a rare entity in children. Usually, it responds very well to steroids. We report case of steroid-unresponsive HE 4-year-old male child presenting with acute encephalitis syndrome raised intracranial pressure. Serum anti-thyroid peroxidase antibody was high. He refractory intravenous immune globulin and underwent plasma exchange therapy which had dramatic response marked clinical improvement.
Abstract Evaluation of acquired demyelinating syndrome (ADS) without diagnostic biomarkers results in and therapeutic challenges pediatric population. Immune-mediated ADS childhood responds well to steroid intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg) refractory cases with plasma exchange. Novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) coinfection such imposes technical management. An 11-year-old girl quadriparesis loss vision a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) brain showing acute encephalomyelitis (ADEM)...
