Phytochemical investigation on the ethanol extract of green walnut husks (Juglans mandshurica Maxim.) led to isolation two previously unknown compounds, including a macrolide compound (13S)-8-oxo-(9E, 11E)-8-oxo-octadeca-9,11-dien-13-olide (1) and diarylheptanoid 1-(3'-methoxy-4'-hydroxyphenyl)-7-(3″,4″-dimethoxyphenyl)heptan-3-one (2), together with 19 known compounds. The structures these 21 compounds were elucidated by extensive analyses NMR HR-MS data, basis spectroscopic analysis.
