The purpose of this study was to prospectively evaluate interobserver agreement on lesion detection and characterization in the review automated ultrasound images breast by five radiologists. From August October 2009, bilateral whole-breast examinations were performed with an technique a handheld device for 55 women consecutively scheduled undergo diagnostic ultrasound. Three-dimensional volume data from reviewed radiologists, who unaware results mammography clinical information. If detected...
Abstract Purpose To evaluate diagnostic performance of apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) in differentiating prostate cancer from noncancerous tissue according to anatomical region. Materials and Methods In 47 patients with diffusion‐weighted‐MR (b‐value, 0 1000 sec/mm 2 ) on a 1.5 T unit, ADCs were measured three tissues (transitional zone, peripheral prostatic base). Diagnostic ADC for was evaluated using receiver‐operating‐characteristics (ROC) analysis. Results Mean (0.963 × 10 −3 mm...
Skin thickness can be a major factor affecting rhinoplasty outcomes. However, few studies have examined the impact of nasal skin on aesthetic results. The aim this study is to determine effect tip surgery outcome objectively.Case series with chart review.Academic tertiary care medical center. The involved 77 patients who were evaluated using preoperative computed tomography scans and underwent including surgery. Surgical outcomes classified as excellent, good, or poor. Nasal was measured at...
The aim of this study was to evaluate the performance a proposed computer-aided detection (CAD) system in automated breast ultrasonography (ABUS).Eighty-nine two-dimensional images (20 cysts, 42 benign lesions, and 27 malignant lesions) were obtained from 47 patients who underwent ABUS (ACUSON S2000). After boundary removal, we detected mass candidates by using adjusted Otsu's threshold; threshold adaptive variations pixel intensities an image. Then, segmented. Features segmented objects...
The objective of the present study was to investigate relationship between subjective sensation nasal obstruction and corresponding cross-sectional area for airflow in patients with a deviated septum.Seventy-one diagnosis unilateral due septum were evaluated by preoperative computed tomography. Anterior anatomic characteristics (the internal valve angle areas at external valve, head inferior turbinate, middle turbinate) posterior factors openings frontal sinus, maxillary end septum)...
We evaluated the impact of three automatic optimization parameters (AOP) modes digital mammography on dose and image quality.Computerized Imaging Reference Systems phantoms were used. A total 12 with different thickness glandularity imaged. analyzed average glandular (AGD) entrance surface exposure (ESE) imaged by in AOP; namely standard mode (STD), contrast (CNT), (DOSE). Moreover, factors including kVp, mAs, target/filter combination evaluated. To evaluate quality obtained image, two...
Characterization of the Flow Pattern by Use Three-Phase CTObjective: This study was designed to evaluate usefulness three-phase CT characterize hemodynamics vascular lesions in head and neck area. Materials Methods:We analyzed malformations regions 21 patients with use CT, including pre-contrast phase, phase (scan delay: 20-35 seconds after intravenous contrast material injection) equilibrium 3-5 minutes) imaging. The flow characteristic each lesion determined categorized as either a highor...
The purpose of this study is to compare the visibility microcalcifications digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) and full-field mammography (FFDM) using specimens.Thirty-one specimens' DBT FFDM were retrospectively reviewed by four readers. The image quality was rated as superior or equivalent in 71.0% reader 1, 67.8% 2, 64.5% 3, 80.6% 4. Fleiss kappa statistic for agreement among readers 0.31.We suggest that appears be comparable with better than terms revealing microcalcifications.
To evaluate the diagnostic performance of shear-wave elastography (SWE) for differential diagnosis breast papillary lesions. This study was an institutional review board-approved retrospective study, with a waiver informed consent. A total 79 lesions in 71 consecutive women underwent ultrasound and SWE prior to biopsy. Ultrasound features quantitative parameters were recorded each lesion. All surgically excised or using ultrasound-guided vacuum-assisted method. The performances compared area...
Purpose To investigate the efficacy of double inversion recovery sequence (DIR) in breast cancer detection. Materials and Methods Fifty‐six patients with biopsy‐proven cancers underwent preoperative MRI, including sagittal DIR contrast‐enhanced T1‐weighted images (CE‐T1WI). Twenty‐four 56 additionally T1WI T2WI. The signal intensities lesion (L) ipsilateral normal tissue (N) were measured. lesion‐to‐normal ratio (LNR) was defined as LNR = 100(L‐N)/N. We compared LNRs among four sequences,...
Soft tissue calcification is common in patients with secondary hyperparathyroidism who have received long-term treatment hemodialysis. However, calcifications the breast parenchyma are not common. We report a case of woman dystrophic from hyperparathyroidism.A 65-year-old presented palpable mass her right which she had discovered 1 month ago. She medical history end-stage renal disease. Mammography and ultrasound revealed large both breasts. Core needle biopsy was performed for breast,...
This single-center, randomized, prospective, exploratory clinical trial was conducted to assess the efficacy of an augmented reality (AR)-based breast cancer localization imaging solution for patients with cancer.
The aim of this study was to investigate postoperative imaging findings patients who underwent breast-conserving surgery for cancer and reconstruction with MegaDerm
Objectives We aimed to compare the diagnostic performances of digital mammography (DM), breast tomosynthesis (DBT), ultrasound (US), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), specific gamma (BSGI) and/or positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) for detection invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC). Methods Index ILCs and multifocal/multicentric (multiple) were analyzed using various modalities. The final surgical pathology was regarded as reference standard. rate index cancers performance...
Abstract Purpose: A single-center, randomized, prospective exploratory clinical trial to assess the efficacy of augmented reality(AR)-based breast cancer localization medical imaging solution in patients with Methods: This enrolled 20 women who were diagnosed invasive between ages 19 and 70, had a single lesion or multifocal size 5mm more 30mm less, no metastasis other organs, not received prior chemotherapy. All underwent mammography, ultrasound, CT, MRI for preoperative assessment....
Li-Fraumeni syndrome (LFS) is an inherited autosomal-dominant tumor-predisposition disorder caused by germline mutations in the TP53 tumor suppressor gene. Since patients with LFS are likely to develop therapy-related cancers, radiation therapy should be avoided if breast cancer found these individuals. Herein, we present a case of secondary patient after and chemotherapy for first diagnosed sarcoma.
Male breast cancer is rare, accounting for approximately 1% of cancers. Metastasis from extra-mammary malignancy to the in men extremely rare. The most common primary tumors that metastasize male are prostate, lung, stomach, colorectal cancer, melanoma, and sarcoma. To our knowledge, only a few cases bladder presenting with metastasis have been reported, infiltration rather than mass We report imaging findings on mammography ultrasonography 59-year-old metastatic breast.
