This study aimed to evaluate the antinociceptive effect of oleanolic acid using adult zebrafish models orofacial pain. Acute nociception was induced by formalin, capsaicin, cinnamaldehyde, menthol, acidified saline or glutamate (cutaneous modes) and hypertonic (corneal model). In another set experiments, animals were pre-treated with naloxone, L-NAME, methylene blue, ketamine, camphor, HC-030031, mefenamic acid, ruthenium red amiloride investigate mechanism antinociception. The involvement...

Cloning by somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) is characterized low efficiency and the occurrence of developmental abnormalities, which are rather poorly studied phenomena in goats. This study aimed at comparing overall SCNT goats using vitro-matured (IVM) or vivo-matured oocytes fibroblast donor cells (mock transfected, transgenic, wild type), also characterizing symptoms Abnormal Offspring Syndrome (AOS) development, results with pregnancies produced artificial insemination (AI)...

Castration is used to improve the management of water buffalo beef males raised under extensive conditions. However, as are considered robust animals, their welfare often neglected, which, among other implications, may compromise productivity. The aim this study was determine effects different castration methods on stress level and weight gain males. Two experiments were performed with three treatments each. In experiment 1, serum cortisol concentrations indicators for non-castrated (control...

This study evaluates the pharmacological potential of cis-jasmone (CJ) in adult zebrafish (Danio rerio; aZF). Initially, aZF (n = 6/group) were pretreated (20 µL; p. o.) with CJ (0.1 or 0.3 1.0 mg/mL) vehicle (0.5% Tween 80). The animals submitted to acute toxicity and locomotion tests, pentylenetetrazole-induced seizure, carrageenan-induced abdominal edema, cinnamaldehyde-, capsaicin-, menthol-, glutamate-, acid saline-induced orofacial nociception. possible mechanisms anticonvulsant,...

The imprinted H19 long non-coding RNA, a knowing oncofetal gene, presents controversial role during the carcinogenesis process since its tumor suppressor or oncogenic activity is not completely elucidated. Since lncRNA involved in many biological pathways related to tumorigenesis, we sought develop non-cancer lineage with CRISPR-Cas9-mediated knockdown (H19-) and observe changes cellular context. To edit promoter region of H19, two RNA guides were designed, murine C2C12 myoblast cells...

INTRODUCTION: Quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) can detect the severe acute respiratory syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) in a highly specific manner. However, decrease specificity of PCR assays for their targets may lead to false negative results. METHODS: Here, 177 high-coverage complete SARS-CoV-2 genome sequences from 13 Brazilian states were aligned with 15 WHO recommended assays. RESULTS: Only 3 completely all sequences. Ten had mismatches up and...

Several chemical and immunohistochemical techniques can be used for the detection of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activity. In this experiment we aimed to detect AChE activity in Trypanosoma evansi. For this, parasites were isolated from blood experimentally infected rats using a DEA-cellulose column. Enzymatic was determined trypomastigote forms at 0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.8 1.2 mg/mL protein concentrations by standard biochemical protocol. At all tested, study showed that T. evansi expresses enzyme...
