We describe the design, synthesis and application of a sensitive, selective, fast fluorescent probe for H2S detection. A linear relationship between emission intensity sulfide concentration was observed in biological bovine plasma systems. With this probe, we were able to estimate mouse blood brain tissues.

Vitamin D3 is critical for the regulation of calcium and phosphate homeostasis. In some individuals, mineral homeostasis can be disrupted by long-term therapy with certain antiepileptic drugs antimicrobial agent rifampin, resulting in drug-induced osteomalacia, which attributed to vitamin D deficiency. We now report a novel CYP3A4-dependent pathway, 4-hydroxylation 25-hydroxyvitamin (25OHD3), induction may contribute The metabolism 25OHD3 was fully...

CD44 is a multifunctional transmembrane protein involved in cell proliferation, angiogenesis, invasion, and metastasis. identified as cancer stem marker, the CD44-positive breast cells are enriched residual populations after conventional therapies, suggesting that may be an important target for prevention therapy. Therefore, we investigated inhibitory effect of novel Gemini vitamin D analog,...

Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) has been associated with anatomical and motility-related abnormalities. Specifically, obesity postulated to alter small bowel motility, leading SIBO.(i) Assess the prevalence of SIBO in obesity; (ii) determine relationship SIBO, using transit time (SBTT) pH; (iii) profile gut microbiome obese non-obese patients SIBO.Thirty consecutive participants referred for underwent lactulose breath tests (LBTs) wireless motility capsule (WMC) studies....

Abstract Background Acute kidney injury (AKI) newly-emerged in intensive care unit (ICU), has not been thoroughly studied previous researches, is likely to differ from AKI developed before ICU admission. This study aimed evaluate the incidence, risk factors, clinical features and outcome of new-onset critically ill patients. Methods The data present derived a multicenter, prospective cohort in17 Chinese ICUs (January 2014 - August 2015). survival analysis were assessed. Results A total 3374...

The lack of early renal function recovery among geriatric patients with acute kidney injury (AKI) in the intensive care unit (ICU) is a commonly observed and acknowledged poor prognostic factor, especially for older adults. However, no reliable biomarker available identifying individuals at risk non-recovery or mortality In this prospective observational cohort study, we enrolled critically ill adults (aged ≥ 60 years) AKI from ICU followed their disease progression. primary endpoint was...

Abstract Numerous preclinical, epidemiologic, and clinical studies have suggested the benefits of vitamin D its analogues for prevention treatment cancer. However, hypercalcemic effects limited use 1α,25(OH)2D3, hormonally active form D. To identify with better efficacy low toxicity, we tested >60 novel Gemini a unique structure two side chains growth inhibition breast cancer cells. Our initial found that some are 5–15 times more than 1α,25(OH)2D3 in assay. In vivo experiments were...
