Metabolically healthy obesity (MHO) and its transition to unhealthy metabolic status have been associated with risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in Western populations. However, it is unclear what extent health changes over time whether such affects risks subtypes CVD Chinese adults. We aimed examine the association vascular across body mass index (BMI) categories.
The histone lysine demethylase KDM5B regulates gene transcription and cell differentiation is implicated in carcinogenesis. It contains multiple conserved chromatin-associated domains, including three PHD fingers of unknown function. Here, we show that the first third, but not second, possess binding activities. PHD1 finger highly specific for unmodified H3 (H3K4me0), whereas PHD3 shows preference trimethylated mark H3K4me3. RNA-seq analysis indicates functions as a transcriptional repressor...
Significance Histone-modifying enzymes play an important role in regulating chromatin-associated processes such as transcription. In addition to modifying histones, these control gene expression through nonhistone proteins, including transcription factors. this study, we show that SET and MYND domain containing 2 (SMYD2), a histone H3K4 H3K36 methyltransferase, directly methylates estrogen receptor alpha (ERα) protein at lysine 266 represses ERα transactivation activity. Upon activation,...
Background: Recurrence of high-risk diabetic feet, after wound, healing is a common challenge among patients. Continuous use an offloading device significantly prevents recurrence although patient adherence imperative to ensuring this therapy's clinical efficacy. In study, we explored outcomes patients with foot who had been prescribed custom-molded footwear under different conditions. Methods: A total 48 (17 females and 31 males) in 13 medical centers across 4 cities, were enrolled the...
Abstract CCL17 is produced by conventional dendritic cells, signals through CCR4 on regulatory T (T reg ) cells and drives atherosclerosis suppressing functions yet undefined mechanisms. Here we show that from CCL17-deficient mice display a pro-tolerogenic phenotype transcriptome not phenocopied in lacking its cognate receptor CCR4. In the plasma of mice, CCL3 was only decreased cytokine/chemokine. We found signaled CCR8 as an alternate high-affinity receptor, which induced expression...
The mechanical and imaging properties of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) can be adjusted to meet the needs researchers as a tissue-mimicking material. For instance, hardness by changing ratio softener PVC polymer, mineral oil added for lubrication in needle insertion, glass beads scatter acoustic energy similar biological tissue. Through this research, authors sought develop regression model design formulations with targeted multimodal medical properties. The experiment was conducted varying three...
Disinfection by-products (DBPs) are one of the unintended consequences water disinfection that commonly detected in various environments. Although DBPs known to induce antimicrobial resistance via stimulation chromosomal mutations, it remains unclear whether low-concentration could stimulate conjugative transfer antibiotic genes (ARGs). The present study aimed investigate effect two typical DBPs, namely trichloromethane (TCM) and dichloroacetonitrile (DCAN), on RP4 plasmid Escherichia coli...
Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-positive breast cancer exhibits early relapses, poor prognoses, and high recurrence rates. Herein, a JNK-targeting compound has been developed that may be of utility in HER2-positive mammary carcinoma. The design pyrimidine-and coumarin-linked structure targeting JNK was explored the lead PC-12 [4-(3-((2-((4-chlorobenzyl)thio) pyrimidin-4-yl)oxy)propoxy)-6-fluoro-2H-chromen-2-one (5d)] observed to selectively inhibit proliferation BC cells....
Abstract Background Tunlametinib (HL-085) is a novel, highly selective MEK inhibitor with substantial clinical activities in patients NRAS -mutant melanoma. This phase I study evaluated the safety and preliminary efficacy of tunlametinib plus vemurafenib advanced BRAF V600-mutant solid tumors. Methods Patients confirmed tumors who had progressed on or shown intolerance no available standard therapies were enrolled received vemurafenib. consisted dose-escalation dose-expansion phase. Primary...
Increasing evidence indicates that beta‐amyloid (Aβ) oligomers rather than monomers or fibrils are the major toxic agents specifically inhibit synaptic plasticity and long‐term potentiation (LTP) in Alzheimer's disease (AD). Neutralization of Aβ oligomeric toxicity was found to reverse memory deficits. Here, we report four single‐chain variable fragment (scFv) antibodies isolated from naive human scFv library by phage display recognized but not fibrils. These conformation‐dependent both...
This manuscript develops a logarithmic mean Divisia index I (LMDI) decomposition method based on energy and CO2 allocation Sankey diagrams to analyze the contributions of various influencing factors growth energy-related emissions national level. Compared with previous methods, we can further consider influences supply efficiency. Two key parameters, primary quantity converted factor (KPEQ) carbon dioxide emission (KC), were introduced calculate equilibrium data for whole process unitization...
