Second-generation Anticoagulant Rodenticides (ARs) can be critical for carnivores, due to their widespread use and impacts. However, although many studies explored the impacts of ARs on small mesocarnivores, none assessed extent which they could contaminate large carnivores in anthropized landscapes. We filled this gap by exploring spatiotemporal trends grey wolf (Canis lupus) exposure central northern Italy, subjecting a sample dead wolves (n = 186) LC-MS/MS method. Most 115/186, 61.8 %)...

The study focused mainly gastrointestinal hepatic helminths. Parasites were recovered 91.2% all examined. Multiple infections found majority animals (71.9% 100% wolves). total, 14 intestinal helminth species identified, two trematodes (Alaria alata, Brachylaima spp.), seven cestodes...

However, temporal and spatial trends mortality, including direct indirect persecution, were never summarized. This study aims to fill this gap by focusing on situation of Tuscany Emilia-Romagna regions, hosting a significant proportion Italian population, by: (i) identifying prevalent causes (ii) summarizing their patterns (iii) applying spatially-explicit...
