ABSTRACT DNA sequencing analyses have demonstrated relatively limited polymorphisms within the fungal internal transcribed spacer (ITS) regions among Trichophyton spp. We sequenced ITS region (ITS1, 5.8S, and ITS2) for 42 dermatophytes belonging to seven species ( rubrum , T. mentagrophytes soudanense tonsurans Epidermophyton floccosum Microsporum canis M. gypseum ) developed a novel padlock probe rolling-circle amplification (RCA)-based method identification of single nucleotide (SNPs) that...
Tinea capitis is still common in developing countries, such as China. Its pathogen spectrum varies across regions and changes over time. This study aimed to clarify the current epidemiological characteristics of tinea China.A multicentre, prospective descriptive involving 29 tertiary hospitals China was conducted. From August 2019 July 2020, 611 patients with were enrolled. Data concerning demography, risk factors fungal tests collected. When necessary, pathogens further identified by...
The susceptibilities of 77 dermatophytes to miltefosine (MI), 1,12-bis(4-pentylpyridinium)dodecane (PYR), 1,12-bis(tributylammonium)dodecane (AM), itraconazole (ITC), terbinafine (TRB), and butenafine (BTF) were compared. Geometric mean MICs TRB, BTF, ITC, MI, PYR, AM 0.039, 0.059, 1.718, 0.671, 6.006, 4.771 microg/ml, respectively. MI was more active than ITC (P < 0.001).
Mannan-binding lectin (MBL), a homologous to C1q, greatly facilitates C3/C4-mediated opsonophagocytosis of Candida albicans (C. albicans) by human neutrophils, and has the capacity bind CR1 (CD35) expressed on circulating neutrophils. The intracellular pool neutrophil Dectin-1 plays critical role in stimulating reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation through recognition β-1,3-glucan component phagocytized zymosan or yeasts. However, little is known about whether MBL can mediate neutrophils...
Abstract Antifungal‐resistant dermatophytes (ARD) infection is a hotspot issue in clinical microbiology and the dermatology field. Trichophyton indotineae as dominant species of dermatophyte with terbinafine‐resistance or multidrug resistance, easy to be missed detection clinically, which brings severe challenges diagnosis treatment. ARD cases have emerged China, it predicts risk transmission among human. Based on existing medical evidence research data, Mycology Group Combination...
Breast cancer is now the most commonly diagnosed in world and leading cause of mortality women worldwide. In past few years, anti- human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 (HER2) therapy for metastatic breast (mBC) has rapidly altered China. This study aimed to describe treatment patterns outcomes patients with HER2-positive unresectable or real-world setting. multicenter, retrospective analysis evaluated efficacy newly HER2+ mBC between Jan 1, 2020 Aug 31, 2022. Electronic medical records...
Abstract Background Dermatophytosis caused by the Trichophyton mentagrophytes/T. interdigitale species complex (TMTISC) has attracted global attention, with increasing reports of terbinafine‐resistant T. indotineae in China. Objectives This study aims to evaluate epidemiological features antifungal‐resistant TMTISC China and monitor prevalence . Methods A total 230 strains were isolated from nine tertiary hospitals across three economic regions These isolates identified through molecular...
e13062 Background: Dalpiciclib is a CDK4/6 inhibitor approved to treat metastatic hormone receptor-positive (HR+) breast cancer (mBC) in combination with endocrine therapy. Toremifene, selective estrogen receptor modulator, has shown encouraging efficacy for HR+ mBC. Previous studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of combining inhibitors modulators reducing recurrence risk early-stage cancer. This study aimed evaluate and safety dalpiciclib combined toremifene as first-line treatment...
Fonsecaea pedrosoi (F. pedrosoi), a major agent of chromoblastomycosis, has been shown to be recognized primarily by C-type lectin receptors (CLRs) in murine model chromoblastomycosis. Specifically, the β-glucan receptor, Dectin-1, mediates Th17 development and consequent recruitment neutrophils, is evidenced have capacity bind saprophytic hyphae F. vitro. However, when embedded tissue, most etiological agents chromoblastomycosis including will transform into sclerotic cells, which are...
We developed a multiplex PCR-based reverse line blot (mPCR/RLB) assay to identify 50 uncommon pneumococcal serotypes. In combination with previously described mPCR/RLB (3), all 90 serotypes can be identified individually (32 serotypes) or, because of predictable cross-reactions, within small groups two five related (58 serotypes), which distinguished using serotype-specific antisera.
16S rDNA sequence analysis is the most accurate method for definitive species identification of nocardiae. However, conflicting results can be found due to errors in gene databases. This study tested feasibility Nocardia by partial (5’-end 606-bp) sequencing, based on comparison with “reference” sequences well-annotated strains. new approach was evaluated using 96 American Type Culture Collection (n=6), and clinical (n=90) isolates. Nucleotide sequence-based polymorphisms within were...
Delta‐aminolevulinate dehydratase ( ALAD ) catalyzes the second step in biosynthesis of heme and is also an endogenous inhibitor 26S proteasome. The role breast cancer progression still unclear. In this study, we found that expression was downregulated tissues compared with adjacent normal tissues. Enhanced associated a favorable outcome patients cancer. Overexpression suppresses cell proliferation invasion inhibits epithelial–mesenchymal transition phenotype. Furthermore, regulates...
Kerion is a severe type of tinea capitis that difficult to treat and remains public health problem.
Fonsecaea pedrosoi (F. pedrosoi) is the most common agent of chromoblastomycosis. Transformation this fungus from its saprophytic phase into pathogenic sclerotic cells in tissue an essential link to refractoriness infection. Experimental studies murine models have shown that absence CD4+ T impairs host defense against F. Clinical research has also suggested a relatively low level Th1 cytokine INF-γ and inefficient cell proliferation are simultaneously present patients with severe...
We compared three novel methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) genotyping methods with multilocus sequence typing (MLST) and spa to assess their utility for routine strain typing. The new were femA nuc toxin gene profiling (TGP), using a multiplex-PCR-based reverse line blot assay detect 13 pyrogenic superantigen exfoliative genes. Forty-two well-characterized MRSA strains, representing 15 MLSTs or 9 clonal clusters (CCs), genotyped by all methods. Twenty-two spa, nine femA,...
e13005 Background: The Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology Guidelines recommended the pyrotinib plus capecitabine regimen as standard care for patients with HER2+ advanced BC who relapsed after trastuzumab therapy (class I recommendation, level evidence: A), based on PHENIX and PHOEBE studies. However, there is no established HER2-positive failed tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) therapy. Given that safety profile TKIs such neratinib tucatinib has been investigated in several clinical trials...
Transformation of Fonsecaea pedrosoi into muriform cells enhances the resistance against phagocytosis and elimination by host immune cells, links to chronicity chromoblastomycosis. Here, we aim determine whether can reproduce in tissue without reverse transformation hyphal form using an experimental nu/nu-BALB/c mouse model chromoblastomycosis due F. pedrosoi. During whole 81-day observation period, most inocula had transformed at 75 days postinoculation maintained as this parasitic...
