Oxidative stress has been implicated in the pathogenesis of chronic pancreatitis (CP) and pancreatic cancer (PC). The study aim was to assess oxidative markers antioxidant defense system patients with CP those PC.Activities superoxide dismutase 1 (SOD1), catalase (CAT), glutathione peroxidase (GPX1), reductase (GR), arylesterase (PON1-A) lactonase (PON1-L) activities paraoxonase (PON1) concentrations reduced glutathione, conjugated dienes low-density lipoprotein (CD/LDL) oxidized LDL...

Prognosis of patients with pancreas cancer is very poor. The aim the study was to test significance laboratory parameters in prognosis cancer. studied group included 57 (31 men, 26 women, mean age 65 ± 9 years). Blood collected at time diagnosis and basic parameters, including nutritional inflammatory markers tumour were measured. Patients followed up until death (median survival 147 days). Ferritin, iron, albumin, prealbumin, cholinesterase, haemoglobin, C-reactive protein, alkaline...

Pancreatic cancer (PC) ranks as the fourth cause of cancer-related deaths in Czech Republic. Evidence exists that deregulation fatty acid (FA) metabolism is connected with some malignancies; therefore, we decided to analyze FA profile plasma lipid classes patients PC relation tumor staging, nutritional status, and survival. The study included 84 (47 males, 37 females) 68 controls (36 32 females). patterns were analyzed by gas-chromatography. We observed increased proportion total...

We analyzed concentrations of osteopontin (OPN) in patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) order to determine firstly whether it is useful distinguish between PDAC and those chronic non-hereditary pancreatitis (CP) type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), secondly OPN depend on the stage.Groups consisting 64 PDAC, 71 CP, 67 T2DM 48 healthy controls (CON) were enrolled study. Controls compared regard levels OPN, oxidative stress markers, conventional tumor markers other biochemical...

The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship serum leptin as well adiponectin and manifestation pancreatic cancer (PC). Serum leptin, adiponectin, glucose homeostasis insulin resistance (expressed HOMA-IR) were investigated in 64 patients with newly diagnosed PC compared healthy controls (CON group) 75 type 2 diabetes (DM2). Seventy percent had DM2. levels lower, whilst adiponectin/leptin ratio higher (both without DM2), comparison CON DM2 groups (P < 0.001) independently age, BMI...

Human paraoxonase 1 (PON1) has been shown to decrease the level of systemic oxidative stress, which is thought contribute cancer development. The aim this study was examine interrelationships between PON1 status and some clinical characteristics in patients with pancreatic (PC). A group 73 consecutive PC (stage II–IV) control subjects were examined. Laboratory studies included five polymorphisms gene (L55M, Q192R, -108C/T, -126C/T, -162A/G), arylesterase (PON1-A) lactonase (PON1-L)...

Pancreatic cancer (PC) is one of the most frequent gastrointestinal malignancies with extremely poor prognosis. In spite a relative low incidence PC, in comparison other cancers, PC fourth leading cause death USA both sexes. The available data clearly suggest that diabetes mellitus (DM) can be long-standing and an early manifestation disease. Besides DM, insulin resistance high levels are linked as well increased risk, including PC. variable number tandem repeats (VNTR) locus upstream gene...

To identify non-invasive biomarkers of non-metastatic pancreatic cancer (PC), the blood from 186 patients (PC n=28; DM-diabetes mellitus n=60; ChP-chronic pancreatitis n=47; healthy controls n=51) was analyzed for 58 candidate biomarkers. Their effectiveness to PC compared with CA19-9. Panel defined by Random-forest (RF) analysis (CA19-9, AAT, IGFBP2, albumin, ALP, Reg3A, HSP27) outperforms CA19-9 in discrimination DM (AUC 0.92 vs. 0.82). Late this hormone 17) did not influence network neurones, it affected neurones. These results suggest that dendrites is set first, followed by...
