Abstract Objectives To report a novel tigecycline resistance gene, tet(X6), and its variants in four bacterial species isolated from chickens pigs China. Methods WGS was conducted to identify the suspected genes tigecycline-resistant Myroides phaeus 18QD1AZ29W. Functional cloning, homology modelling molecular docking were performed compare function with other Tet(X) variants. Retrospective screening for tet(X6) 80 isolates our data collection, all genomic environments of tet(X6)-positive...

Background The harvest index for many crops can be improved through introduction of dwarf stature to increase lodging resistance, combined with early maturity. inbred line Shen5003 has been widely used in maize breeding China as a key donor the trait. Also, one major quantitative trait locus (QTL) controlling plant height identified bin 5.05–5.06, across several bi-parental populations. With progress publicly available genome sequence, objective this work was identify candidate genes that...

ABSTRACT Salmonellosis is a major global foodborne infection, and strains that are resistant to great variety of antibiotics have become public health concern. The aim this study was identify genes conferring resistance fluoroquinolones extended-spectrum β-lactams in nontyphoidal Salmonella (NTS) from patients food-producing animals China. In total, 133 21 NTS isolates humans, respectively, exhibiting concurrent ciprofloxacin cefotaxime were cultured independently 2009 ∼2013. All the...

The plasmid-mediated high-level tigecycline resistance gene, tet(X4), was detected in seven Escherichia coli isolates from pork two Chinese provinces. Two belonged to the epidemic spreading sequence type ST101. Tet(X4) adjacent ISVsa3 and concurrent with floR all isolates. In addition IncFIB, replicon IncFII found be linked tet(X4). This report follows a recent detection of tet(X3)/(X4) E. animals humans China.

Tigecycline, the first member of glycylcycline class antibiotic, is often considered one effective antibiotics against multidrug-resistant (MDR) infections. However, emergence and wide distribution two novel plasmid-mediated tigecycline resistance genes, tet (X3) (X4), pose a great threat to clinical use tigecycline.

Citrobacter freundii is an infrequent but established cause of diarrhea in humans. However, little known its genetic diversity and potential for virulence. We analyzed 26 isolates, including 12 from human diarrheal patients, 2 fecal samples unknown status, animals, insects, other sources. Pulsed field gel electrophoresis using XbaI allowed us to divide the isolates into 20 pulse types, while multi-locus sequence typing 7 housekeeping genes 6 types (STs) with majority belonging 4 STs....
