Introduction This study aimed to evaluate the prognostic significance of preoperative positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET-CT) in resectable colorectal cancer (CRC), specifically examining association between standardized uptake value max (SUVmax) and recurrence risk, stratified by pathological stage. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on 164 CRC patients who underwent PET-CT before curative resection. SUVmax values were assessed for their correlation with...

Abstract For cell-based medicine, to mimic in vivo cellular localization, various tissue engineering approaches have been studied obtain a desirable arrangement of cells on scaffold materials. We developed novel method cell manipulation called “cell transfer technology”, enabling the cultured onto materials, and controlling topology. Here we show that using this technique, two different types can be transferred surface as stable double layers or patterned arrangements. Various combinations...

Transforming growth factor beta 1 (TGF-beta1) induces alpha2(I) collagen gene (COL1A2) expression in mesangial cells through physical and functional cooperation of Smad proteins Sp1. A transcriptional coactivator, p300, is also suggested to play an important role TGF-beta1/Smad signal transduction. However, the p300 TGF-beta1/Smad-pathway-mediated activation COL1A2 still obscure.Endogenous its modulation by TGF-beta1 were evaluated Western blotting immunofluorescence. The interaction with...

Ring-shaped crystallization was observed in ion-implanted amorphous silicon by using picosecond extremely high-power laser pulses. A poly-crystalline region is formed circularly around the laser-induced damage even at an oblique incidence. Additionally, ripple structures are concentrically, and spacing decreases with increasing distance from spot center. The results well understood a picture that caused explosively laser-driven shock.
