Abstract High rates of nitrogen (N) fertilizer were applied to a paddy field in the Taihu Lake region China maximize crop production. Excessive N input has resulted serious agricultural nonpoint pollution. Water and management are two important approaches regulating loss from fields. This study aimed determine losses through ammonia volatilization, runoff, leaching during rice-growing season region. Field experiments with water managements conducted. The exported environment was 37.2 kg ha−1...

Genetic diversity and comprehensive performance are the basis for discovery efficient use of proso millet (Panicum miliaceum L.) core collections. In this study, 386 collections were used as materials to observe inflorescence color, leaf phase, density, axis shape, branched spike length, panicle type, trichome, measured area top3 leaves, chlorophyll content leaves at filling stage. These also record growth period, plant height, diameter main stem, tiller number, branch number per plant,...

The prevalence of Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) has become a major public health concern worldwide. Slowly digested or indigestible carbohydrates, such as starch complexes, are associated with low glycemic index (GI) and reduced risk developing T2DM. In this study, pea starch–polyphenol complexes were prepared by incorporating three types polyphenols varying polarities: anthocyanin, gallic acid, quercetin. physicochemical digestive properties these different investigated. results showed...

Minor grain crops are widely cultivated in northwest China and played important roles local economic. Soil microbes play a central role ecological function biological stability related to soil quality. In order uncover the microbial composition differences factors under 5-year continuous monocropping of three minor (Proso millet, Common bean buckwheat) Guan-Zhong Plain, six nutrimental parameters, pH, moisture content, four enzyme activities were analyzed sequenced. The results showed that...

Proper methods for estimating reference evapotranspiration (ET0) using limited climatic data are critical, if complete weather unavailable. Based on the of 19 stations in Guizhou Province, China, several simple ET0 estimation, including Hargreaves, Priestley–Taylor, Irmak–Allen, McCloud, Turk, and Valiantzas methods, were involved comparison with standard FAO-56 Penman–Monteith (PM) method. The Turk equation performs well humid locations. Both method initially performed acceptably mean...

Influence of nonflooding controlled irrigation (NFI) on solubility and leaching risk soil organic carbon (SOC) were investigated. Compared with flooding (FI) paddies, water extractable (WEOC) dissolved (DOC) in NFI paddies increased surface but decreased deep soil. The DOC loss field was 63.3 kg C ha −1 , reduced by 46.4% than the FI fields. It indicated that multi‐wet‐dry cycles enhanced decomposition SOC soils, less moved downward to soils due percolation. That also led lower which implied...

The structural, functional properties of protein isolated from small-seeded soybeans were investigated and characteristics tofu studied. Small-seeded soybean had obvious α', α, β, acidic basic subunits bands two endothermic peaks (76.02–76.63℃ 91.94–94.25℃). black isolates (SBSPI) more β-sheet (31.90–33.54%) structure, while yellow (SYSPI) α-helix (18.89–20.72%) structure. SYSPI higher fluorescence intensity (839.10–847.80) than SBSPI (482.70–565.10). exhibited surface hydrophobicity...
