Abstract Background The TRACE (Routine posTsuRgical Anaesthesia visit to improve patient outComE) RCT did not show any perioperative benefit from ward-based visits by anaesthetists after surgery. aim of this study was evaluate the impact intervention on longer-term outcomes. Methods Patients were followed up in 1 year nine hospitals Netherlands. undergoing elective non-cardiac surgery, and at risk for adverse postoperative outcome, included. group additionally received routine anaesthesia...

In this prospective, interventional, international study, we investigate continuous monitoring of hospitalised patients’ vital signs using wearable technology as a basis for real-time early warning scores (EWS) estimation and time-series prediction. The collected monitored are heart rate, blood pressure, respiration oxygen saturation heterogeneous patient population in cardiology, postsurgical, dialysis wards. Two aspects elaborated study. first is the high-rate (every minute) statistical...

This study introduces machine learning predictive models to predict the future values of monitored vital signs COVID-19 ICU patients. The main sign predictors include heart rate, respiration and oxygen saturation. We investigated performances developed by considering different approaches. first model was following signs: blood pressure (systolic, diastolic mean arterial, pulse pressure), Similar approach, second using same signs, but it trained tested based on a leave-one-subject-out...

Perioperative complications occur in 30–40% of non-cardiac surgical patients and are the leading cause early postoperative morbidity mortality. Regular visits by trained health professionals may decrease incidence mortality through earlier detection adequate treatment complications. Until now, no studies have been performed on impact routine postsurgical anesthesia TRACE is a prospective, multicenter, stepped-wedge cluster randomized interventional study academic peripheral hospitals...

Standardized risk assessment tools can be used to identify patients at higher for postoperative complications and death. In this study, we validate the PreOperative Score predict Post-Operative Mortality (POSPOM) in-hospital mortality in a large cohort of non-cardiac surgery patients. addition, performance POSPOM was studied.Data from control TRACE (routine posTsuRgical Anesthesia visit improve patient outComE) study analysed. scores each were calculated post-hoc. Observed compared with...

Abstract Background and Objectives This study aimed to explore colorectal cancer (CRC) patients' perspectives experiences regarding the preoperative surgical care pathway their subsequent preparedness for surgery postoperative recovery. Methods CRC patients were recruited using purposive sampling interviewed three times (preoperatively, 6 weeks 3 months postoperatively) semistructured telephone interviews. Interviews audiotaped, transcribed verbatim analysed independently by two researchers...

Monitoring the course of platelet function in HELLP (haemolysis, elevated liver-enzymes and low platelets) syndrome is important for clinical decision-making. We present a primigravid woman developing at 29 weeks 6 days. Platelet was monitored by multiple electrode aggregometry (MEA), analyzer (PFA-100®), count mean volume (MPV) over an 11-day period. MPV PFA-100® seem better predictors than levels.
