This case series examines the efficacy of anifrolumab as a therapeutic option for patients with lupus erythematosus.
We describe radiologic and symptomatic improvement in two dermatomyositis patients with recalcitrant muscle disease following off-label treatment anifrolumab, a monoclonal antibody targeting type I IFN receptor recently approved by the FDA EMA for of systemic lupus erythematosus.
Adult-onset dermatomyositis (DM) is an autoimmune inflammatory myopathy with distinct cutaneous manifestations and a strong malignancy association. Through comparative analysis lupus erythematosus (CLE), our integrated spatial single-cell transcriptomics revealed unique immune stromal niches associated DM subtypes. Unexpectedly, we found association between cancer-associated skin lesions the presence of dispersed infiltrates enriched macrophages, CD8+ T cells, plasma B cells preserved...
Background: Allergic asthma is a major cause of worldwide morbidity and results from inadequate immune regulation in response to innocuous, environmental antigens. The need exists understand the mechanisms that promote nonreactivity human-relevant allergens such as house dust mite (HDM) order develop curative therapies for asthma. aim our study was compare effects short-, intermediate- long-term HDM administration murine model determine ability exposure suppress allergic inflammation....
Abstract: Pigmented squamous cell carcinoma in situ (pSCCis) is difficult to diagnose based on clinical and dermoscopic examination. Reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM) allows noninvasive differentiation between malignant benign pigmented skin lesions. We determined the frequency of key RCM features pSCCis correlated criteria with corresponding histopathologic criteria. The study included 28 lesions biopsy-proven diagnosis derived from patients. Clinical, dermoscopic, images these were...
Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic, relapsing, inflammatory skin disorder with heterogeneous clinical presentation and the cardinal symptom of itch, that results in significant patient burden decrease patient's quality life.1 The pathogenesis AD multifactorial from an immune response skewed toward Th2 axis, displaying upregulation key cytokines, including interleukin 4 (IL-4), IL-5, IL-13, IL-31.2,3 Dupilumab, biologic, which inhibits IL-4 IL-13 signaling via inhibition receptor alpha...
This cohort study investigated the association between treatment of dermatomyositis with intravenous immunoglobulin and thromboembolic events.
Results of molecular studies are redefining the diagnosis and management a wide range skin disorders. Dermatology training programs maintain relative gap in relevant teaching. To develop curriculum diagnostics, genomics personalized medicine for dermatology trainees at our institution. The aim is to provide with specialty-appropriate, working knowledge clinical dermatology. The Departments Pathology Laboratory Medicine collaborated on design implementation educational objectives teaching...
Efforts have been expended to evaluate the reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM) features of different clinical entities in order more thoroughly delineate benign versus malignant features. In this way, RCM can help clinicians be selective regard undertaking appropriate skin biopsies and improving their ratio. Herein, we report a case histopathologically proven melanoacanthoma, variant seborrheic keratosis. There are scarce reports describing melanoacanthoma. Our demonstrated that were...
Reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM) is an FDA approved noninvasive optical imaging technique that acquires cellular level-resolution skin images in vivo. Herein, we report a case of histopathologically proven large cell acanthoma (LCA) whose RCM features simulate those squamous carcinoma situ.
