The highly radiopure $\simeq$ 250 kg NaI(Tl) DAMA/LIBRA set-up is running at the Gran Sasso National Laboratory of I.N.F.N.. In this paper first result obtained by exploiting model independent annual modulation signature for Dark Matter (DM) particles presented. It refers to an exposure 0.53 ton$\times$yr. collected data satisfy all many peculiarities DM signature. Neither systematic effects nor side reactions can account observed amplitude and contemporaneously several requirements Thus,...

The first model independent results obtained by the DAMA/LIBRA-phase2 experiment are presented. The data have been collected over 6 annual cycles corresponding to a total exposure of 1.13 t  yr, deep underground at Gran Sasso National Laboratory (LNGS) I.N.F.N.The apparatus, ≃ 250 kg highly radio-pure NaI(Tl), profits from second generation high quantum efficiency photomultipliers and new electronics with respect DAMA/LIBRA-phase1.The improved experimental configuration has also allowed...

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is highly sensitive for lesion detection. Sequences obtained with different settings can capture specific characteristics of lesions. Such multi-parametric MRI information has been shown to aid radiologist performance in classification, as well improving the artificial intelligence models various tasks. However, obtaining makes examination costly from both financial and time perspectives, there may also be safety concerns special populations, thus making...

Cilia are specialized organelles protruding from the cell surface of almost all mammalian cells. They consist a basal body, composed two centrioles, and named axoneme. Although basic structure cilia is same, numerous differences emerge in different types, suggesting diverse functions. In recent years many studies have elucidated function 9+0 primary cilia. The cilium acts as an antenna for cell, several important pathways such Hedgehog, Wnt planar polarity (PCP) transduced through it. Many...

The intestinal epithelium is a complex system characterized by massive and continuous cell renewal differentiation. In this context, cell-type-specific transcription factors are thought to play crucial role modulating specific networks signalling pathways. Hnf1alpha beta closely related atypical homeoprotein expressed in several epithelia, including the gut. With use of conditional inactivation system, we generated mice which Hnf1b specifically inactivated on wild-type or Hnf1a(-/-) genetic...

The results obtained in the search for possible diurnal effect single-hit low energy data collected by DAMA/LIBRA-phase1 (total exposure 1.04 ton $$\times $$ year) deep underground at Gran Sasso National Laboratory (LNGS) of INFN are presented. At present level sensitivity presence any significant variation and time structures can be excluded both cases solar sidereal time. In particular, modulation amplitude expected, because Earth motion, on basis DAMA dark matter annual is below sensitivity.

Several of the many proposed Dark Matter candidate particles, already investigated with lower exposure and a higher software energy threshold, are further analyzed including first DAMA/LIBRA-phase2 data release, an 1.13 tyr threshold (1 keV).The cumulative above 2 keV considering also DAMA/NaI DAMA/LIBRA-phase1 results is now 2.46 tyr.The analysis permits to constrain parameters' space considered candidates restricting their valueswith respect previous analysesthanks increase threshold.

Conservative mastectomy with immediate prosthetic breast reconstruction (IPBR) is an oncologically accepted technique that offers improved esthetic results and patient quality of life. Traditionally, implants have been placed in a submuscular (SM) plane beneath the pectoralis major muscle (PMM). Recently, prepectoral (PP) placement prosthesis has increasingly used order to avoid morbidities related manipulation PMM. The aim this study was compare outcomes SM vs. PP IPBR after conservative...
