Summary In this study, we investigated microbial communities (bacteria and protist) in two coastal areas near the estuaries of Liaohe (LH) River Yalujiang (YLJ) Northwestern Pacific Ocean. Due to existence Liaodong Peninsula different levels urbanization, geographical segregation significant environmental heterogeneity were observed between these areas. There significantly regional species pools biogeographic patterns for both bacterial protistan LH YLJ Species turnover was main mechanism...

Coastal regions support the most threatened ecosystems on Earth, and anthropogenic activities have been significantly affecting both habitat structure ecological quality. Understanding dynamics of response to multiple stresses is a precondition for management restoration largely disturbed coastal ecosystems. Among diverse taxa in regions, benthic organisms are widely recognized as promising targets assessing causes consequences activity-derived stressors, such environmental pollution....

As an important carbon sink, seaweed cultivation plays a vital role in controlling global climate change. However, most studies have been focused on the itself, and knowledge of bacterioplankton dynamics activities is still limited. Here, total 80 water samples were obtained from coastal kelp area adjacent non-culture seedling mature stages. The communities analyzed using high-throughput sequencing bacterial 16S rRNA genes, microbial genes involving biogeochemical cycles measured by...

Phytoplankton and microzooplankton are crucial players in marine ecosystems first responders to environmental changes, but their community structures how they shaped by conditions have rarely been studied simultaneously. In this study, we conducted an eDNA metabarcoding sequencing combined with multiple statistical methods simultaneously analyze the phytoplankton Liaohe (LH) Yalujiang (YLJ) estuaries. The major objective was examine plankton structure assembly mechanism may differ between...

Estuaries are increasingly threatened by pollutants derived from human activities, which severely impair their water quality, biodiversity, and ecological functions. Therefore, within this context, it is essential to conduct comprehensive scientifically rigorous assessments of estuarine quality. Taking the Yellow River estuary as a case study, composite index was here developed evaluate impacts eutrophication heavy metal pollution on The Trix potential risk revealed significant risks...

We observed two ultrabroadband near-infrared (NIR) luminescence bands around 1.2 and 1.5 μm in as-grown bismuth-doped CsI halide crystals, without additional aftertreatment. Dependence of the NIR emission properties on excitation wavelength measurement temperature was studied. Two kinds active centers subvalent bismuth color were demonstrated to coexist Bi:CsI crystal. The eye-safe band with an FWHM 140 nm lifetime 213 μs at room makes crystal promising applications ultrafast laser amplifier.

Rodent pest management traditionally relies on some form of lethal control. Developing effective fertility control for rodent species could be a major breakthrough particularly in the context managing population outbreaks. This laboratory-based study is first to report effects using compounds an outbreaking found throughout sub-Saharan Africa. Spectroscopic properties of Bi-doped SrB(4)O(7) glasses, sintered compounds, polycrystalline materials, and single crystals were investigated. Broadband near-infrared luminescence was realized in glasses with basicity materials non-bridging oxygens. In Bi:SrB(4)O(7) crystals, only visible Bi(3+) Bi(2+) observed, but no near-infrared. The rigid three-dimensional network crystal is proved to be unfavorable for accommodation Bi(+) ions.
