We reported that the open-circuit voltage (VOC) of polymer solar cells (PSCs) can be enhanced by 0.3 V via inserting a thin layer alcohol/water-soluble polyelectrolyte between active and metal electrode. The origin increase in VOC attributed to superposition built-in field with interfacial dipole interlayer, existence interlayer as dielectric was confirmed ac impedance spectroscopy. significant enhancement simplicity incorporation solution processing make this method good candidate for...

Abstract Soluble molecular red emitters 1a / 1b are synthesized by Stille coupling from 2‐(3,5‐di(1‐naphthyl)phenyl)thiophene precursors. The compounds show emission maxima at ca. 610 nm in CH 2 Cl solution and 620 solid films. Replacing the n ‐hexyl substituent 4‐ sec ‐butoxyphenyl produces a marked increase of glass transition temperature ( T g ) 82 °C to 137 increases solubility toluene p ‐xylene, thus improving film‐forming properties. Cyclic voltammetry shows that can be reversibly...

An air‐stable calamitic liquid crystalline material, 2‐(4‐dodecyl phenyl)[1]benzothieno[3,2‐ b ]benzothiophene (C12‐Ph‐BTBT), is designed with a highly ordered smectic X (SmX) (X = K or H) phase demonstrating high charge‐carrier mobility and thermal stability in thin‐film transistors. Organic transistors show mobilities as 8.7 cm 2 V −1 s when the C12‐Ph‐BTBT thin film annealed at its SmX before electrode deposition. Structural characterization reveals that as‐deposited films adopt...

Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection in pregnant women have an adverse impact on perinatal outcomes, including cesarean section, preterm birth, fetal distress. However, it's uncertain whether these consequences are caused by previous SARS-COV-2 during pregnancy or acute at the time of delivery. We conducted a single-center retrospective cohort study among with singleton who delivered between 1 December 2022 and February 2023 (n = 2472). Pregnancies were...

Amino acids, as ubiquitous biological compounds, are effective in surface modification of indium tin oxide (ITO). The modified ITO reveals a work function decrease by up to 2.2 eV (i.e., from 4.7 2.5 eV), which makes the stable, transparent, and widley used cathode organic optoelectronic devices, such solar cells light-emitting diodes. In this paper, we report that highly efficient inverted organic solar cells were achieved by modifying the surface of indium tin oxide (ITO) using an amino acid, Serine (Ser). With modification ITO surface, device efficiency was significantly enhanced from 0.63% to 4.17%, accompanied with open circuit voltage (Voc) 0.30 V 0.55 V. Ultraviolet and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy studies indicate work function reduction induced acid resulting in decreased barrier height at ITO/organic...
