Aromatic ginger (Kaempferia galanga L) is native to India and believed be originated in Burma. Despite substantial uses a pickle south-east Asian cuisines, aromatic chemically less studied than white red ginger. Multi-directional investigations have been performed evaluate chemical composition, nutritional values, ameliorative protective potential of galanga) rhizome (KGR). Macro micro components analysis confirmed that KGR contains protein, fiber, high amount essential minerals (potassium,...
ABSTRACT Changes in plant growth and development, micronutrient accumulation, essential oil yield composition were studied Japanese mint (Mentha arvensis L. cv. MS 77) growing under selected water stresses from deficiency to sufficiency. Water stress resulted significant reductions CO2 exchange rate, total assimilatory area, fresh dry matter, chlorophyll, carotenoids, Fe, Mn, Zn, yield. Some changes observed, but these generally not correlated with stress.
Culturing geranium at different doses of Zn from 0-1.0 g m-3 (Zn0 to Zn1.000) revealed that is an antioxidant promoter, apart its micronutrient essentiality. Zn0.250 was the critical concentration for maximum content (0.21 %) total essential monoterpene oil(s). At Zn0.005-Zn0.250, net photosynthetic rate, and contents chlorophyll oil(s) were affected. The peroxidase activity obtained Zn0.250, with production biomolecule geraniol. We found oxido-reducible reaction in formation possibly major...
Changes in growth parameters, carbon assimilation efficiency, and utilization of 14CO2 assimilate into alkaloids plant parts were investigated at whole level by treatment Catharanthus roseus with gibberellic acid (GA). Application GA (1 000 g m-3) resulted changes leaf morphology, increase stem elongation, internode length, height, decrease biomass content. Phenotypic accompanied contents chlorophylls photosynthetic capacity. application higher % total accumulated leaf, stem, root. produced...
Abstract Neural progenitor cell transplantation has emerged as a promising approach for replacement therapy in the brain of neurodegenerative diseases. These are multipotent stem cells with self‐renewal capabilities and can give rise to all three lineages nervous system be maintained differentiated desirable neuronal subtypes vitro known trophic factors. However, like fetal cells, neural after differentiating specific type also require continuous neurotrophic factor support their long‐term...
In assisted reproduction, ejaculated semen is either washed immediately for in vitro fertilization or diluted and processed further optimal low temperature liquid- cryo-preservation. The extended handling of makes sperm vulnerable to organelle and/ membrane damages. addition several important functions, mitochondrion chiefly responsible production detrimental free radicals spermatozoa. Therefore, direct evaluation mitochondrial activitymight be useful protocol as an alternate, more objective...
Changes in growth, CO2 exchange rate, and distribution of photosynthetically fixed 14CO2 into the primary photosynthetic metabolic pool (sugars, amino acids organic acids) essential oil accumulation were determined leaves (leaf positions 1-6 from apex) developing peppermint grown a solution culture at Zn concentrations 0 0.05 g m-3. There was significant decrease 14C incorporation total, ethanol-soluble ethanol-insoluble fractions deficient plants all leaf positions. incorporated sugars...
A high-performance thin layer chromatographic method has been established for the identification and standardization of Stereospermum suaveolens extracts using two active biomarkers viz. triacontanol p-coumaric acid in root samples collected from different geographical locations India. These marker components have therapeutic activities: is a good antioxidant also anti-diabetic properties; anti-inflammatory anti-ulcer properties. Studies on as well stem showed characteristic bands at Rf 0.51...
Changes in leaf growth, net photosynthetic rate (PN), incorporation pattern of photosynthetically fixed 14CO2 leaves 1-4 from top, roots, and rhizome, essential oil curcumin contents were studied turmeric plants grown nutrient solution at boron (B) concentrations 0 0.5 g m-3. B deficiency resulted decrease area, fresh dry mass, chlorophyll (Chl) content, PN total incorporated all positions, the maximum effect being young growing leaves. The declined with position maximal youngest leaf....
Spearmint cultivars MSS-5, Arka, and Neera grown in nutrient culture controlled conditions differed plant height, number of tillers, internodal position, fresh mass, dry leaf stem ratio, chlorophyll contents. Initial transpiration rate, stomatal conductivity, CO2 exchange rate showed better increase MSS-5 genotype. Mn stress decreased oil content whereas the constituent carvone increased Arka.
Abstract The opposed jet assembly has been adapted for stabilizing a counter flow diffusion flame of ethanol. Data on the thermo-aerodynamic structure flame, obtained with help interferometric and particle track techniques, have presented analysed to yield heat release rate. maximum temperature is found be close adiabatic net in agreement theoretically expected value. luminous accompanied by endothermic zones both fuel oxygen sides. Mass spectromctric analysis gases confirm presence ethanol...
