A resonance-type X-ray magnetic scattering at the K -absorption edge was first observed in 220 Bragg reflection of ferromagnetic Ni single crystal. Further a theoretical discussion on resonance curve carried out; difference oscillator-strength density for each direction spins also derived from this curve. The minority spin excesses that majority between Fermi level and 25 eV above level. amounts to about 1×10 -4 /Ry maximum.

Although conventional radiotherapy promotes the migration/invasion of cancer stem cells (CSCs) under normoxia, carbon ion (C-ion) irradiation actually decreases these processes. Unraveling mechanisms this discrepancy, particularly hypoxic conditions that pertain in niches where CSCs are preferentially localized, would provide a better understanding origins metastases. Invasion/migration, proteins involved epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT), and expression MMP-2 HIF-1α were quantified...

Measuring global gene expression using cDNA or oligonucleotide microarrays is an effective approach to understanding the complex mechanisms of effects radiation. However, few studies have been carried out that investigate in vivo after prolonged exposure low-dose-rate In this study, C57BL/6J mice were continuously irradiated with gamma-rays for 485 days at dose-rates 0.032-13 microGy/min. Using velocity-analyzed cold neutrons we observed the production of ultracold in superfluid $^{4}\mathrm{He}$ at 0.45 to 1.5 K. Ultracold are produced for an incident neutron wavelength 8.78\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.06 \AA{} which agrees with single-phonon emission theory. The temperature variation ultracold-neutron storage lifetime is also discussed.

Exposure to ionizing radiation was shown result in an increased risk of breast cancer. There is strong evidence that steroid hormones influence radiosensitivity and cancer risk. Tumors may be initiated by a small subpopulation stem cells (CSCs). In order assess whether the modulation radiation-induced could involve CSCs, we measured flow cytometry proportion CSCs irradiated cell lines after progesterone estrogen treatment. Abstract DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs) induced by photon irradiation are the most deleterious damage for cancer cells and their efficient repair may contribute to radioresistance, particularly in hypoxic conditions. Carbon ions (C-ions) act independently of oxygen concentration trigger complex- clustered-DSBs difficult repair. Understanding interrelation between hypoxia, radiation-type, DNA-repair is therefore essential overcoming radioresistance. The DSBs signaling contribution canonical...
