Influenza is an infectious disease caused by the influenza virus, and each year many people suffer from this disease. Hemagglutinin (HA) in membrane of type A viruses recognizes sialylglycoconjugate receptors on host cell surface at initial step infection process; consequently, HA inhibitors are considered potential candidates for antiviral drugs. We identified peptides that bind to receptor-binding sites through a multiple serial selection phage-displayed random peptide libraries. Using H1...

Solvent-free oxidative coupling polymerization of 3-hexylthiophene using FeCl3 oxidant was conducted to synthesize poly(3-hexylthiophene) grains. Optical and scanning electron microscopy studies confirmed production submillimeter-sized atypical grains with rough surfaces. Solubility test, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, 1H nuclear magnetic resonance indicated the branching cross-linking poly(3-hexylthiophene). Elemental microanalysis X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy that were doped...

A novel two-step preparation of a silica nanofluid (Si-NF) with potential for light oil recovery is herein presented. It was observed that Si-NF, prepared by dispersing nanoparticles (Si-NPs) in poly(vinyl alcohol) (1%) under carbon dioxide gas bubbling, stable 30 days at temperature as high 55 °C without any visible sedimentation. Unstable Si-NFs formed siliceous gels whose strength depends on Si-NP load. The spectral characterization revealed consisted silanols, carbonyls, and alcohols. As...

Abstract Vitamin A levels in fattening Japanese Black cattle affect meat quality; therefore, it is important to monitor serum retinol concentrations. To simplify and accelerate the evaluation of concentrations cattle, we developed a new predictive method using excitation-emission matrix (EEM) fluorescence spectrophotometry. For analytical comparison, concentration was also measured conventional HPLC method. We examined excitation (Ex) emission (Em) wavelengths serum, which were 250–450...
