Abstract The deposition of pathological tau is a common feature in several neurodegenerative tauopathies. Although equal ratios isoforms with 3 (3R) and 4 (4R) microtubule-binding repeats are expressed the adult human brain, from different tauopathies have distinct isoform compositions cell type specificities. underlying mechanisms unknown, partially due to lack proper models. Here, we generate new transgenic mouse line expressing 3R 4R (6hTau mice). Intracerebral injections tauopathy...
Deposition of tau aggregates in the brain is a pathological hallmark several neurodegenerative diseases, termed tauopathies, such as Alzheimer's disease (AD), corticobasal degeneration, and progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP). As transcellular spread has been implicated progression, immunotherapy being considered treatment for tauopathies. Here we report detailed biochemical biophysical characterization tau-binding properties gosuranemab, humanized monoclonal antibody directed against...
Abstract The microtubule-associated protein tau (tau) forms hyperphosphorylated aggregates in the brains of tauopathy patients that can be pathologically and biochemically defined as distinct strains. Recent studies show these strains exhibit strain-specific biological activities, also referred to pathogenicities, spreading models. Currently, specific pathogenicity human-derived cannot fully recapitulated by synthetic preformed fibrils (pffs), which are generated from recombinant protein....
Objectives This study focused on the teaching creativity among competencies of child-care teachers and aimed to examine variables that predict their creativity. Methods To this end, 179 from centers located in S, D, F, C provinces participated survey. According research questions, Pearson correlation analysis multiple regression were conducted using SPSS program. Results There was a significant positive between teachers' creativity, creative personality, playfulness. The personality...
The spread of tau pathology in Alzheimer's disease (AD) is mediated by cell-to-cell transmission pathological seeds released from neurons that, upon internalization recipient neurons, template the misfolding naïve cellular tau, thereby propagating fibrillization. We hypothesize that anti-tau monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) selectively bind to will inhibit propagation aggregates and reduce vivo.We inoculated mice with human AD brain-derived extracts containing paired helical filaments (AD-tau)...
Tau pathogenesis is a hallmark of many neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Although the events leading to initial tau misfolding and subsequent spreading in patient brains are largely unknown, traumatic brain injury (TBI) may be risk factor for tau-mediated neurodegeneration. Using repetitive TBI (rTBI) paradigm, we report that rTBI induced somatic accumulation phosphorylated misfolded tau, as well neurodegeneration across multiple areas 7-month-old transgenic...
Pathological tau aggregates in Alzheimer's disease (AD) and frontotemporal lobar degeneration-tau (FTLD-tau) adopt distinct conformations differentiated by the AD-tau specific monoclonal antibody (mAb) GT-38 that are not readily visualized using phosphorylation-specific anti-tau mAbs. To determine extent of co-morbid pathology FTLD-tau, we performed immunohistochemical (IHC) staining with assigned Braak stages a cohort 180 FTLD-tau cases consisting corticobasal degeneration (CBD; n = 49),...
Medical professionalism is a core aspect of medical education and practice worldwide. must be reinterpreted to adapt different social/cultural/historical contexts. We conducted survey examine the current understanding perceived value among Korean physicians.
We have investigated a novel method to monitor real changes of intracellular ROS by the use CMH2TMRos (a reduced form MitoTracker orange) in Swiss 3T3 fibroblasts. Arachidonic acid induced rapid increase CMTMRos fluorescence with maximal elevation at 120–150 sec, which was determined scanning every 10 sec confocal microscope. The arachidonic completely inhibited 2-MPG but not catalase, indicating major contribution superoxide oxidation CMH2TMRos. Incubation glucose oxidase, exogenous H2O2,...
Asthma is a common chronic inflammatory disease, which characterized by airway hyperresponsiveness (AHR), high serum levels of immunoglobulin (Ig)E, and recruitment various cells such as eosinophils lymphocytes. Korean traditional fermented foods have been reported to exert beneficial effects against allergic diseases asthma atopic dermatitis. In this study, we investigated whether Staphylococcus succinus strain 14BME20 (14BME20) isolated from doenjang, high-salt-fermented soybean food...
Abstract This study investigated the anatomical details of axillary and radial nerves in 50 upper limbs from 29 adult formalin-embalmed cadavers, ten fresh limbs. The focus was on understanding course, division, ramifications these to improve treatment shoulder dysfunction caused by nerve damage. divided anteriorly posteriorly before passing quadrangular space all specimens, with specific distances first ramifications. It found that deltoid muscle's clavicular acromial parts were always...
The development of scientific technology for art authentication has elicited multidimensional evidence to distinguish forgeries from original artwork. Here, we analyzed the three-dimensional morphology cracks that contain information, such as painting features artworks, using optical coherence tomography. were produced by an expert oil paintings with occur owing paint drying, canvas aging, and physical damage. Parameters, shape, width, depth, compared based on cross-sectional images fake...
Plasmonic optical nanolithography using extraordinary transmission through a metallic nanohole mask has been actively applied to the high-resolution fabrication of nanostructures over large area. Although there have studies on improving nanostructure performance in nanolithography, such as adjustable external gap spacing, additional enhancement is required for practical applications and commercialization large-area array techniques. In this study, we design apply plasmonic bull's eye...
