To compare the prevalence of disabling low back pain (DLBP) and wrist/hand (DWHP) among groups workers carrying out similar physical activities in different cultural environments, to explore explanations for observed differences, we conducted a cross-sectional survey 18 countries. Standardised questionnaires were used ascertain that interfered with everyday exposure possible risk factors 12,426 participants from 47 occupational (mostly nurses office workers). Abstract Background and Aims To improve upon the estimation of 10-year cardiovascular disease (CVD) event risk for individuals without prior CVD or diabetes mellitus in Asia-Pacific region by systematic recalibration SCORE2 algorithm. Methods The sex-specific competing risk-adjusted algorithms were systematically recalibrated to reflect incidence observed four regions, defined according country-level World Health Organization age- sex-standardized mortality rates. Cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL) in Sri Lanka is caused by Leishmania donovani. This study assessed the diagnostic value of a new rapid immunochromatographic strip (CL-Detect™ IC-RDT), that captures peroxidoxin antigen amastigotes. We sampled 74 clinically suspected CL lesions, which 59 (79.7%) were positive PCR, 43 (58.1%) Giemsa stained slit skin smear (SSS) and 21 (28.4%) IC-RDT. All samples either SSS or IC-RDT both PCR. The sensitivities compared to PCR 36% 73%, respectively. Fifteen...

Abstract The endemic strain of Leishmania donovani in Sri Lanka causes cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL) rather than more common visceral form. We have visualized biofilms and profiled the microbiome lesions unaffected skin thirty-nine CL patients. Twenty-four (61.5%) were biofilm-positive according to fluorescence situ hybridization. Biopsies dominated by Pseudomonas , class Bacilli Enterobacteriaceae distinguished significantly lower community evenness. Higher relative abundance a OTU was...

Cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL) is endemic in Sri Lanka. Giemsa-stained slit-skin-smears (SSS-Giemsa) and histology are routinely used diagnosis with a sensitivity of 40–70%. PCR currently has limited accessibility. Therefore, we assessed the specificity previously described fluorescence situ hybridization assay, on skin smears biopsy samples to overcome limitations encountered routine diagnostic methods.
