The interaction of DAPI with natural and synthetic polydeoxynucleotides different base content sequences was studied circular dichroism, ultracentrifugation, viscosity calorimetry. All the polymers show two types binding. strength its resistence to ionic are related AT clusters in chain. On other hand, sedimentation measurements rule out an intercalation mechanism. A model DNA, similar that displayed by distamycin netropsin, is proposed.

Free radical-mediated oxidative damage has been implicated in the pathophysiological mechanisms of apoptosis. In this study we report that statistically significant strand breaks were induced primarily hippocampus and cerebellum during chronic, not acute, ethanol treatment. Damage to DNA observed was also correlated with modification activities mitochondrial respiratory complexes I IV a increase lipid peroxidation products. This finding lends support fact are brain areas particularly...

Antibiotics represent essential drugs to contrast the insurgence of bacterial infections in humans and animals. Their extensive use livestock farming, including aquaculture, has improved production performances food safety. However, their overuse can implicate a risk water pollution related antimicrobial resistance. Consequently, innovative strategies for successfully removing antibiotic contaminants have be advanced protect human health. Among them, photodegradation TiO2-driven under solar...

Zinc oxide (ZnO) nanorods grown by chemical bath deposition (CBD) on the surface of polyetheresulfone (PES) electrospun fibers confer antimicrobial properties to obtained hybrid inorganic–polymeric PES/ZnO mats. In particular, a decrement bacteria colony forming units (CFU) is observed for both negative (Escherichia coli) and positive (Staphylococcus aureus Staphylococcus epidermidis) Grams. Since action strictly related quantity ZnO present surface, CBD process optimization performed...

ABSTRACT: The major natural polyphenols of wine are flavonoids. Red also contains a phytoalexin called resveratrol which recently has been the subject conflicting reports regarding its protective role against cardiovascular diseases. We have investigated free radical scavenging capacity resveratrol, effects on xanthine oxidase (XO) activity, spontaneous membrane lipid oxidation, and DNA cleavage. Resveratrol showed dose‐dependent significant inhibition XO an anti‐lipoperoxidative capacity,...
