Stress induced (Takotsubo) cardiomyopathy (TC) represents an acute heart failure syndrome triggered by physical or emotional stressors. COVID-19 pandemic has caused unprecedented health crisis resulting in fear, distress and anxiety, with emerging cardiovascular implications. related stress can act as potential trigger for TC. We present a case of elderly female who developed TC due to surrounding COVID-19.

We compared pulse wave velocity (PWV) between hypertensive patients and control to identify demographics patient characteristics related PWV. retrospectively analyzed 9923 participants (3105 controls 6818 patients) from 5 outpatient clinics (in Serbia Greece). Pulse had different distribution ( P < .001). The magnitude of PWV increase was blood pressure (BP) category (from optimal stage III hypertension; Even in with systolic BP (SBP) <140 and/or diastolic (DBP) <90 mm Hg, greater than...

Despite the existence of many studies, there are still limited data about characteristics myocarditis in Greece. This led to creation Greek Myocarditis Registry aiming document different symptoms and treatment myocarditis, assess possible prognostic factors, find similarities differences what is already published literature. paper a preliminary descriptive analysis this Registry. We analysed for hospitalization period all patients included from December 2015 until November 2017. Objective: Functional capacity assessment is an essential component in the primary and secondary prevention programs, it determined objectively by cardiopulmonary exercise (CPX) testing. In oxygen-dependent biological system, such as human body, CPX testing summarizes overall efficiency of transport systems use oxygen, gas throughout which explains recognized assessing prognostic value this parameter. The objective was to investigate correlation pulse wave velocity (PWV) with various...

Abstract Objectives To identify angiographic predictors of aberrant left circumflex artery (LCx) by comparing main (LM) length and bifurcation angle between patients with LCx normal anatomy. Background Failure to recognize during a cardiac catheterization may hamper correct diagnosis, delay intervention in acute coronary syndromes, result increased contrast volume, radiation exposure, infarct size. Methods We retrospectively analyzed angiograms anatomy matched controls, three‐participating...

Objective: Hyperuricaemia is associated with many traditional cardiovascular risk factors such as arterial hypertension, diabetes and dyslipidaemia. Our purpose was to investigate the relationship of Serum Uric Acid (SUA) levels ten – year fatal disease. Design method: We prospectively enrolled 568 hypertensive patients (mean age 63 ± 10 years) presented for evaluation in hypertension clinic. In all subjects routine blood chemistry, including SUA determination, echocardiographic examination,...
