A series of chalcogeno esters 1a, 6a and 6b have been synthesized in a straightforward manner. Polarized-light optical microscopy (POM) differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) showed that these displayed wide nematic range mesophase. In addition, UV-Vis solution (ca.10-5 mol L-1) was applied order to obtain the HOMO-LUMO gap for further comparison with theoretical results. The calculated values are excellent agreement experimental results, where electronegativity heteroatom (O, S Se) seems...

The present study investigates the antinociceptive effect of pyrazolyl-thiazole derivative 2-(5-trichloromethyl-5-hydroxy-3-phenyl-4,5-dihydro-1 H-pyrazol-1-yl)-4-(4-bromophenyl)-5-methylthiazole (B50) in mice. Male albino Swiss mice (30-40 g) were used acetic acid-induced abdominal writhes and tail-immersion tests. B50 caused dose-dependent antinociception (8, 23 80 µmol/kg, sc) acid writhing assay (number writhes: vehicle: 27.69 ± 6.15; (8 µmol/kg): 16.92 3.84; (23 13.85 (80 9.54 3.08;...

A new series of 4-dimethylsulfoximide-1,1,1-trifluoro-3-buten-2-ones has been prepared by the direct reaction 4-alkoxy-4-alkyl-(aryl)-1,1,1-trifluoro-3-buten-2-ones with S,S-dimethylsulfoximide, in good yields. The 5-trifluoromethylated 3-alkyl- and 3-aryl-1-methyl-1,2-thiazine 1-oxide derivatives intramolecular cyclization reactions have easily isolated.

ABSTRACT: Much research has been published regarding the relation between major gas hydrate accumulations and global carbon cycle. In this context, determination of sulfate/methane interface (SMI) depth is primary importance in order to understand dynamics methane flux shallow section. This paper identifies SMI sediments based on sulfate concentration profiles cores recovered Rio Grande Cone Gas Hydrate Province, Pelotas Basin, southern Brazil.
