Recent studies suggested intrathecal vasodilator administration as a therapy to mitigate post-ischemic cerebral hypoperfusion following cardiac arrest. We examined the effects of two commonly used vasodilators, sodium nitroprusside (SNP) and nicardipine, on pial microcirculation, cortical tissue oxygen tension (PctO 2 ), electrocortical activity in early post-resuscitation period using porcine model Thirty pigs were resuscitated after 14 min untreated At 30 resuscitation from arrest,...

We evaluate the efficacy and safety of sonographically guided ethanol sclerotherapy for benign thyroid cysts. We examined 22 patients with cysts (13 complex nine pure cysts) confirmed by fine-needle aspiration biopsy. Sonographically cystic fluid was followed instillation absolute (99.9%) into cavity: injected volume 40-100% aspirated. The procedure performed every 1 or 3 months one two sessions (mean, 1.2 sessions). Follow-up sonography 1-10 after final session, we observed complications.The...

Recently, myocarditis following messenger RNA (mRNA) coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination has become an important social issue worldwide. According to the reports so far, related mRNA COVID-19 is rare and usually associated with a benign clinical course without intensive care or any sequelae of fulminant myocarditis. Here, we report case acute cardiogenic shock after vaccination, requiring extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Clinicians should keep in mind possibility...

This article presents an adaptive precompensation technique for the Wiener system: a class of nonlinear systems that can be represented by interconnection linear dynamic subsystem and memoryless subsystem. An algorithm adjusting parameters precompensator, structured Hammerstein model, is derived using stochastic gradient method. The validity proposed confirmed in computer simulation applying it to known systems.

We investigated the association between lactate clearance or serum levels and neurologic outcomes in-hospital mortality in cardiac arrest survivors who were treated with targeted temperature management (TTM).A retrospective analysis of data from TTM 2012 2015 was conducted. Serum measured on admission at 12, 24, 48 hours following admission. Lactate also calculated. The primary outcome discharge. secondary mortality. The study included 282 patients; 184 (65.2%) discharged a poor outcome, 62...

Aims: This study evaluated whether the initial venous glucose level at presentation is associated with fatality in organophosphate (OP)-poisoned patients without diabetes mellitus (DM) and association between outcome differs depending on chemical formulation of OP ingested. Methods: retrospective observational case series consisted 184 DM who had a history poisoning. Initial presentation, general clinical data were recorded. Growing evidence indicates that inflammation is associated with neurological sequelae after CO poisoning. Several scores incorporating the peripheral complete blood cell (CBC) count have been introduced as indicators of systemic inflammation. This study investigated whether these can improve predictive accuracy for long-term outcome acute carbon monoxide (CO) Two hundred seventy-nine patients who suffered from poisoning were included. Data on demographic details, serial CBC counts and based...
