本研究は,ソーシャルスキルの階層性を考慮し,認知や情動面のスキルも測定できる「成人用ソーシャルスキル自己評定尺度」が青年に適用可能であることを確認した上で,項目反応理論を用いて短縮版尺度を作成し,その短縮版尺度を用いて,具体的な対人場面におけるスキルである対人スキルと,それらを発揮する基となる,汎状況的な認知・情動・行動スキルであるコミュニケーション・スキルとの関連性を検討することが目的であった。多母集団因子分析によって,青年のソーシャルスキルを同様の因子構造で測定できることを確認した上で,項目反応理論を用いて35項目であった項目数が20項目となる短縮版尺度を作成した。また,階層的重回帰分析の結果,対人スキルの発揮のためには,自分の意思を相手に伝えるための行動スキルだけでなく,認知や情動面のスキルも重要であること,その関連性は対人スキルの種類によって異なることが示された。したがって,青年のソーシャルスキルを高めるためには,対人スキルの種類に合わせて,認知や情動面のスキルを含めた訓練が有効であることが示唆された。

本研究では, がん診療連携拠点病院を中心とした緩和ケアチームで一定の活動経験のある7名の医師および看護師を対象に, フォーカスグループインタビューを実施し, 緩和ケアチームが心理士に求める役割について検討した. インタビュー内容の質的分析の結果, 緩和ケア領域に携わる心理士が役割を果たすために必要な知識として, 第1に, 基本的ならびに専門的な心理学的知識とスキルが挙げられた. 第2に, がんに関する全般的ならびに精神医学的知識が挙げられた. その他に, 他職種の役割と医療システムに関する知識が求められており, 医療者への心理的支援を望む声も認められた. 以上より, 本研究で明らかにされた心理士に求める役割とは, がん医療に関する幅広い知識をもとに他職種と十分にコミュニケーションをとりながら, 心理学的な専門性を活かして, 患者・家族, および医療者に心理的支援を行うことであった.
