Excessive alcohol consumption is one of the most significant causes morbidity and mortality worldwide. Alcohol oxidized to toxic carcinogenic acetaldehyde by dehydrogenase (ADH) further a non-toxic acetate aldehyde (ALDH). There are two major ALDH isoforms, cytosolic mitochondrial, encoded ALDH1 ALDH2 genes, respectively. The polymorphism associated with flushing response use. Emerging evidence shows that Lactobacillus Bifidobacterium species encode (ALDH) mediate metabolism, A randomized,...

We report the genome sequence of Bifidobacterium animalis subspecies lactis BL3, which has preventive properties on acute colitis and colon cancer. The was isolated from Korean faeces, consisted a 1 944 323 bp size single chromosome, its G+C content 60.5%. Genome comparison against closest strain revealed that BL3 had particularly different regions four areas encoding flavin-nucleotide-binding protein, transposase, multidrug ABC transporter ATP binding protein.

Treatment and prevention methods for non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug-induced enteropathy have not yet been established. We tested the preventive effects of s-pantoprazole sodium trihydrate (PAN), polaprezinc (PZ), probiotics on an indomethacin (Indo)-induced small intestinal injury in a rat model. Rats were randomised into 6 groups to receive: normal saline (control), Indo (6 mg/kg), PZ plus Indo, PAN or (at 10 8 9 cfu/head) 2 weeks. measured body weight, food intake, severity damage,...

Menopause is a significant phase in woman's life. Menopausal symptoms can affect overall well-being and quality of Conventionally, hormone replacement therapy (HRT) used to alleviate menopausal symptoms; however, depending on the conditions, HRT may lead side effects, necessitating exploration alternative therapies with fewer effects. In this study, we investigated effects combination soybean germ extract (S30) containing 30% (w/w) isoflavone probiotic, Lactobacillus gasseri (LGA1),...
