A half-mode substrate integrated waveguide (HSIW) filter incorporated with co-planar (CPW) and strip (CPS) is proposed. Quarter-wavelength CPW half-wavelength CPS resonators etched on the top metal layer are used to realized extended-doublet topology. A single-cavity novel dual mode substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) filter with non-resonating node (NRN) is presented. The NRN implemented by etching a coplanar on the top metal layer of SIW cavity. A novel microstrip filter using three-mode stepped impedance resonator (TSIR) is presented, with its coupling scheme given so as to accurately predict desired performance.
