Abstract Background Vaccine‐associated anaphylaxis is a rare but life‐threatening reaction that occurs within minutes to hours of exposure allergens. As studies utilizing large‐scale data investigate this topic are limited, further research needed assess its burden, long‐term trends, and associated risk factors so as gain comprehensive understanding vaccine‐associated globally. Therefore, study aimed the global burden related vaccines. Method This utilized World Health Organization...
With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, several previous studies from different countries showed that physical activity (PA) decreased during outbreak. However, few have examined recent tendency of PA in adolescent population. Thus, we aimed to investigate long-term trend Korean youth and prevalence changes between before pandemic. Data Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-Based Survey (KYRBS) was collected for consecutive years 2009 2021. The period separated into prepandemic (2009-2019),...
Benefits of breastfeeding for both the mother and child are well established, but a comprehensive robust study to investigate protective effect attenuated time stratified by cause morbidity lacking. This is based on nationwide birth cohort in Korea that includes data all infants born from 2009 2015. Of 1,608,540 children, median follow-up period was 8.41 years (interquartile range, 6.76-10.06). When compared children with fully formula feeding, hospital admission rate 12% lower those...
The molecules of the TNF superfamily and their receptors play crucial roles in humoral immune response. In view powerful effects on germinal center (GC) B cell differentiation, expression these should be tightly regulated. this study, we have undertaken a detailed analysis regulation CD27 following differentiation GC cells supported by follicular dendritic line. We show that is differentially expressed subpopulations at different stages differentiation. Naive are virtually negative but...
As the aging society progresses, average age of mothers is also increasing. Advanced maternal has been known to be associated with perinatal outcomes, as well birth weight (BW). In this study, we aimed investigate factors low infants (LBWIs) using statistics Korean population.Birth between 1993 and 2016 from Statistical Information Service were reviewed. We investigated 12,856,614 data points, which included number births, BWs, percentage preterm births LBWIs, multiple pregnancies, age.The...
Background Components of the metabolic syndrome (MetS), such as elevated fasting glucose levels and abdominal obesity, have been suggested potential risk factors for pancreatic cancer. However, data are still insufficient to assure influence MetS on incident The objective current study was investigate association between MetS, components, Methods In Korea National Health Information Database, 223,138 individuals who were without cancer in 2009 enrolled followed until 2013. They categorized...
In Korea, the birth rate is declining at an alarming pace. This study aimed to investigate changes and trends in population count, number of births, past future.Data regarding total crude rate, fertility were collected from "Statistics Korea Census" national statistical portal, census report, Statistics Korea's "2020 Population Trend Survey for 1981-2020, provisional results death statistics." We used Organisation Economic Co-operation Development 2019 Family Database TFR. To develop a...
Various international reports have shown that socioeconomic and sociodemographic variables are correlated with allergic diseases; however, little is known about how these affect Korean adolescents. This study was conducted to identify risk factors for diseases in adolescents provide information preventing managing such conditions.Data from the 2011 Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey (KYRBWS-VII) of 75,643 were used. An anonymously administered online survey collect dependent variable...
Human milk banks are a solution for mothers who cannot supply their own breast to sick or hospitalized infants; premature infants, in particular, unable receive full volume of numerous reasons. As December 2015, there was only one bank university hospital Korea. We reviewed the basic characteristics donors and recipients, amounts contamination donated at Milk Bank Kyung Hee University Hospital Gangdong Korea from 2008 2015. The donor pool consisted 463 first-time 452 repeat made 1,724...
Pulmonary surfactants, a complex assembly of phospholipids and surfactant proteins such as SP-B SP-C, are critical for maintaining respiratory system functionality by lowering surface tension (ST) preventing alveolar collapse. Our study introduced five synthetic peptides one SP-C peptide, leading to the synthesis CHAsurf candidates (CHAsurf-1 CHAsurf-5) evaluation. We utilized modified Wilhelmy balance test assess properties measuring spreading rate, adsorption, ST-area diagrams...
The Pediatric Growth Chart (2007) is used as a standard reference to evaluate weight and height percentiles of Korean children adolescents. Although several previous studies provided useful range newborn birth (BW) by gestational age (GA), the BW analyzed sex plurality not currently available. Therefore, we aimed establish national neonatal considering GA, sex, newborns in Korea. raw data all (470,171 2010, 471,265 2011, 484,550 2012) were analyzed. Using Statistical Information Service...
The aim of this study was to survey multiple birth data and analyze the recent trends births its consequences on perinatal problems in Korea from 1991 2008. Data were obtained Korean Statistical Information Service. total number showed increasing trends. rate maintained within less than 10.0 for decade 1981 1990. However, it increased gradually reach 27.5 maternal age higher live births. mean weight 3.23 kg; 2.40 kg incidence low infants (LBWI) among 3.8% 2000 4.9% For 49.2% 53.0% during...
Respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) is a disease that commonly affects premature infants whose lungs are not fully developed. RDS results from lack of surfactant in the lungs. The more infant is, greater likelihood having RDS. However, even though all have RDS, preemptive treatment with artificial pulmonary administered most cases. We aimed to develop an intelligence model predict avoid unnecessary treatment. In this study, 13,087 very low birth weight who were newborns weighing less than 1500...
Nitric oxide (NO) is an important molecule in cell communication that also plays role many biological processes. Given the dual of NO nerve degeneration and regeneration after facial injury, we sought to delve deeper into its through a systematic literature review. A comprehensive review employing SCOPUS, PubMed, Cochrane Library, EMBASE, Google Scholar databases was conducted evaluate induction neurodegeneration injury. From 20 papers ultimately reviewed, central findings were neuronal...
Neonatal mortality rate (NMR) or infant (IMR) are the of deaths per 1,000 live births at which babies either less than four weeks one year age die, respectively. The NMR and IMR commonly accepted as a measure general health wellbeing population. Korea's fell significantly between 1993 2009 from 6.6 9.9 to 1.7 3.2, Common causes infantile death in 2008 had decreased compared with those 1996 such other disorders originating perinatal period, congenital malformation heart, bacterial sepsis...
Selective N-acetylation of (1S,2R)-1-amino-2-indanol by immobilized lipase B from Candida antarctica showed high enantiomeric excess when ethyl acetate was used as the acyl donor in a THF solution. Combining this process with continuous-flow system, we could obtain enantiomerically pure N-acetyl-aminoindanol at flow rate 0.1 mL/min (residence time 64 min). It has been demonstrated to be more efficient compared flask mode.
The aims of this study were to investigate whether early arterial blood gas analysis (ABGA) could define the severity disease in infants with congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH). We conducted a retrospective over 21-yr period diagnosed CDH. Outcomes defined as death before discharge, and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation requirements (ECMO) or death. A total 114 included study. investigated simplified prediction formula [PO2-PCO2] values at 0, 4, 8, 12 hr after birth associated...
