Photon echoes following two pulses of C${\mathrm{O}}_{2}$ laser radiation incident on S${\mathrm{F}}_{6}$ gas have been observed. Homogeneous relaxation times for colliding with S${\mathrm{F}}_{6}$, He, Ne, and ${\mathrm{H}}_{2}$ are shown to be easily measurable from the decay photon-echo amplitude.

The behavior of the photon echo produced by an inhomogeneously broadened spectral line is analyzed, with particular emphasis on effect spatial degeneracy molecular energy levels. theoretical results are used to aid in identification states involved echoes from gaseous S${\mathrm{F}}_{6}$ excited pulses C${\mathrm{O}}_{2}$ laser radiation near 10.6 \ensuremath{\mu}. analysis demonstrates that for $|{\ensuremath{\Delta}}_{j}|=1$ transitions ($P$ and $R$ branches) induced two linearly polarized...
Using two step-tunable CO2 lasers, we have observed phase-matched generation of frequencies 70 <ν<110 cm−1 by nonlinear mixing in a birefringent ternary semiconductor, ZnGeP2. An power ∼1.7 μW at 83.37 gave signal-to-noise ratio ∼1000 with Ge:Ga detector. In combination tunable optical this technique should yield source submillimeter wave radiation for high-resolution spectroscopy.
Spectroscopic measurements have been made of the nitric oxide and water vapor concentrations in stratosphere at an altitude 28 kilometers. The measurements, carried out situ with use a spin flip Raman laser, represent first accurate determination as function time (as sun rose) from about 6: 30 to 14: 00 C. D. T.
We report a novel optoacoustic (OA) cell construction which has improved small absorption measurement capability from 10−9 cm−1 to 10−10 cm−1. The new OA is ideally suitable for use with planar output lasers, e.g., diode lasers. Now spectroscopy can be extended include the effects of low temperatures, electric fields, and magnetic field effects.

Corneal endotheliitis is an inflammatory process, most commonly of viral etiology, that manifests clinically with features including corneal edema, keratic precipitates, and a mild anterior chamber reaction. Several studies have implicated human herpesviruses from the Herpesviridae family as primary causes endotheliitis, cytomegalovirus (CMV), varicella zoster virus (VZV), herpes simplex viruses 1 2 (HSV-1 HSV-2). This review critically evaluates present literature surrounding herpesvirus...
The Lamb-shift splitting in hydrogenic chlorine is measured to be 31.19(22) THz. experiment was performed on a relativistic beam of ions using C${\mathrm{O}}_{2}$ laser resonance method. result agrees with one the two existing calculations and most sensitive test date QED high-$Z$ systems.

Hydrogenic fluorine atoms in the $2{S}_{\frac{1}{2}}$ metastable state were produced at 64 MeV by use of a tandem electrostatic accelerator and suitable combinations stripper adder carbon foils. A pulsed HBr laser centered 2382.52 ${\mathrm{cm}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ was Doppler-shift tuned through $2{S}_{\frac{1}{2}}\ensuremath{-}2{P}_{\frac{3}{2}}$ energy separation to yield resonance Lyman-$\ensuremath{\alpha}$ x rays 826 eV. This technique yields value for Lamb-shift splitting...
We report the first use of magnetoplasma effects for phase-matched nonlinear interactions in far infrared.Received 31 January 1969DOI:https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevLett.22.463©1969 American Physical Society
Measurements of the temporal variation in stratospheric nitric oxide concentration covering a time period from 11:00 to 20:30 local show effect solar ultraviolet sunset. The experimental results strongly support theorized role as catalyst destruction ozone and its importance balance.
We have carried out saturation spectroscopy of the H2O line at 1889.58 cm−1 using a tunable spin-flip Raman (SFR) laser. observed Lamb dip widths order 200 kHz, demonstrating usefulness SFR laser for ultrahigh-resolution (resolution ∼ 3 × 108).
Millimeter wave difference frequencies are generated by mixing adjacent vibrational-rotational lines of CO2 laser in a GaAs-filled waveguide designed for phase matched interactions. Absolute values the nonlinear coefficient at these obtained and found to be larger than that given low-frequency electrooptic coefficient.
A general scaling relationship is derived for detector sensitivity in terms of the acoustic properties absorber, permitting transfer calibration among different materials. limiting case an exciting optical-pulse duration's being short compared with relaxation time considered detail. strong temperature dependence response predicted several materials technical interest.
This paper gives the details of pulse delay in self-induced transparency S${\mathrm{F}}_{6}$ with a C${\mathrm{O}}_{2}$ laser at 10.5915 \ensuremath{\mu}. Results show that propagation intense pulses can be described by transparency.
Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a major source of worldwide morbidity and mortality. Patients suffering from TBI exhibit higher susceptibility to bone loss an increased rate fractures; however, the underlying mechanisms remain poorly defined. Herein, we observed significantly lower quality elevated levels inflammation in marrow niche after controlled cortical impact-induced vivo CD-1 mice. Further, identified dysregulated NF-κB signaling, established mediator osteoclast differentiation loss,...
Abstract The primary purpose of the present study was to develop and validate a high‐performance thin‐layer chromatography method for quantitatively determining an anti‐hypertensive agent, perindopril erbumine, moxonidine hydrochloride in bulk synthetic mixture. densitometric procedure performed on aluminum plates pre‐coated with silica gel 60F254, employing combination dichloromethane: toluene: methanol: ammonia (7:1:2:0.1 v/v/v/v) as mobile phase. scanner operated absorbance mode at...
This paper reports the first observation of phase-matched nonlinear interaction between three circularly polarized waves.
The pulse shape of the cylindrical ultrasonic pressure waves generated by transient laser irradiation in a weakly absorbing liquid is calculated for Green’s function formalism. results are reasonable agreement with experimental shapes measured using thin transducer. shown to be affected relaxation time absorbed energy.
