Using a conditional life or death screen in yeast, we have isolated tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum) gene encoding phospholipid hydroperoxide glutathione peroxidase (LePHGPx). The protein displayed reduced glutathione-dependent activity, but differs from counterpart mammalian enzymes that instead contain an active seleno-Cys. LePHGPx functioned as cytoprotector yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae), preventing Bax, hydrogen peroxide, and heat stress induced cell death, while also delaying...

Genetic studies in mice and zebrafish have revealed conserved requirements for Endothelin 1 (Edn1) signaling craniofacial development. Edn1 acts through its cognate type-A receptor (Ednra) to promote ventral skeletal fates lower-jaw formation. Here, we describe the isolation characterization of two ednra genes - ednra1 ednra2 both which are expressed progenitors embryonic neural crest. We show that they play partially redundant roles formation development jaw joint. Knockdown Ednra1 leads...

This paper presents a progressive match filling (PMF) technique to reduce the peak current and power dissipation during fast capture cycle in broadside delay fault testing. The proposed method fills unspecified values (X) generated initialization vector such that resulting launch at minimal Hamming distance from vector. does not require any hardware modification can be used obtain test sets two pattern tests. Experimental results show reduces by 40.59% on average up 54.17% for large ISC AS...

It is not well understood how paracrine communication between basal and luminal cell populations in the mammary gland affects tumorigenesis. During ErbB2-induced tumorigenesis, enriched stem cells that represent a subpopulation of exhibit enhanced tumorigenic capacity compared with corresponding progenitors. Transcript profiling tumors derived from tumor-initiating (TIC) revealed preferential loss noncanonical Wnt ligand WNT5A TIC-derived tumors. Heterozygous was correlated shorter survival...

Gene duplication has been proposed to drive the evolution of novel morphologies. After gene duplication, it is unclear whether changes in resulting paralogs' coding-regions, or their cis-regulatory elements, contribute most significantly assembly regulatory networks. The Transcription Factor Activator Protein 2 (Tfap2) was duplicated chordate lineage and essential for development neural crest, a tissue that emerged with vertebrates. Using tfap2-depleted zebrafish background, we test ability...

A model of the gene-regulatory-network (GRN), governing growth, survival, and differentiation melanocytes, has emerged from studies mouse coat color mutants melanoma cell lines. In this model, Transcription Factor Activator Protein 2 alpha (TFAP2A) contributes to melanocyte development by activating expression gene encoding receptor tyrosine kinase Kit. Next, ligand-bound Kit stimulates a pathway transcription factor Microphthalmia (Mitf), which promotes survival melanocytes Tyrosinase...

This paper presents a method of generating tests for transition faults using stuck-at such that the peak power is minimum possible given set faults. The proposed suitable use in testing scan designs employ enhanced scan. reduces consumption benchmark circuits by 19% on average with essentially same test size and fault coverage compared to an earlier method.

This paper presents a new technique to improve the delay fault coverage by re-ordering flip-flops in scan chain. Unlike prior techniques where can be reordered arbitrarily form chain order, we restrict distance which flip-flop moved create order. In this paper we give a new method of designing sources. The design attempts match probabilities 1 0 and transitions consecutive bits set test vectors, taking into account that the transition may be different for bit positions.
