Discovering new pathways for overcoming multidrug resistance (MDR) of cancer is important to the development chemotherapy. Herein, by mixing metal–phenolic network formed tannic acid and Fe3+ with doxorubicin (DOX)-loaded dendrimer (Den), we prepare Den–DOX–tannic acid–Fe3+ (DDTF) nanocomplex which can combat MDR cells via an apoptosis/ferroptosis hybrid pathway. The elevated reactive oxygen species (ROS) level caused DOX-induced apoptosis sensitizes Fenton reaction-induced ferroptosis...

Abstract Background Most of the about 140 million informal sector workers in urban China do not have health insurance. A 1998 central government policy leaves it to discretion municipal governments offer cities voluntary participation a social insurance for formal workers, so-called 'basic insurance' (BHI). Methods We used contingent valuation method assess maximum willingness pay (WTP) BHI among including unregistered rural-to-urban migrants, Wuhan City, China. selected respondents...

Astaxanthin (AST) is a compound renowned for its extraordinary antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. However, application limited due to low solubility, instability bioavailability. To overcome these drawbacks, we encapsulated AST in liposomes (AST-loaded liposomes, AST-LIP) using chitosan (CS) as coating materials by thin film dispersion high-pressure homogenization. We examined the physicochemical characteristics (particle size, polydispersity index, zeta potential, encapsulation...

Pyridinium 1,4-zwitterionic thiolates, as a novel kind of sulfur-containing synthon, have been applied to the synthesis 12aH-benzo[f]pyrido[1,2-d][1,4]thiazepines and benzo[b]thiophenes. Benzopyridothiazepines were produced through 1,5-dipolar cycloaddition reaction from pyridinium thiolates with arynes, whereas benzothiophenes side products generated via [3 + 2] cascade cyclization reaction. The [5 mode is disclosed for first time.
