A new tool for the high-throughput study of carbohydrate–protein interactions: Maleimide-linked carbohydrates (e.g. 1) were immobilized on thiol-derivatized glass slides, and microspots probed with fluorescein-labeled lectins (see picture). The binding to slide depends concentration length tethers.

Carbohydrate microarrays have been used recently for the rapid analysis of glycan−protein or glycan−cell interactions and detection pathogens. As a demonstration its significance versatility, microarray technology has applied in this effort to assay glycosyltransferase activities. In addition, carbohydrate based methods employed quantitatively determine binding affinities between lectins carbohydrates.

In this review, we summarize the recent efforts on manipulating phonon transport in solids by using specific techniques that modify their thermal conductivity (i.e., heat, group velocity, and mean free path) conductance transmission probability density of states). The strategies discussed for tuning are as follows: large unit cell approach liquid-like conduction maneuvering heat; rattler, mini-bandgap, confinement velocity; nanoparticles, nanosized grains, coated alloy (isotope) scattering,...

Carbohydrate microarrays have received great attention as high-throughput analytic tools in studies of carbohydrate-mediated biological processes. Most the methods employed to fabricate glycan rely on immobilization modified glycans properly derivatized surfaces.
