Abstract Lichen planus ( LP ) is infrequently seen in children and the clinical presentation often atypical. We conducted a retrospective analysis of features treatment response childhood to date. The profile data patients younger than 14 years old with (entered predesigned pro forma study) from January 1997 June 2011 were analyzed. was administered according predetermined departmental protocol comprised topical steroids or without oral dapsone corticosteroids. Patients evaluated for...
Dermatophytosis is one of the most common superficial infections skin affecting nearly one-fifth world population at any given time. With 30% worldwide terbinafine-resistance cases in Trichophyton mentagrophytes/Trichophyton interdigitale and rubrum reported from India recent years, there a significant burden emerging drug resistance epidemic on India. Here, we carry out comprehensive retrospective analysis dermatophytosis using 1038 research articles pertaining to 161,245 1939 2021. We find...
<b>Background and Objectives:</b> The availability of baseline information on the epidemiology sexually transmitted infections (STIs) other associated risk behaviors is essential for designing, implementing, monitoring successful targeted interventions. Also, continuous analysis assessment prevalence-based screening studies are necessary to evaluate monitor performance syndromic management. aim present study was document pattern common STIs case management against their laboratory diagnoses....
Abstract Numerous studies indicate that the genome of higher eukaryotes is organized into distinct chromosome territories and 3‐D arrangement these may be closely connected to genomic function global regulation gene expression. Despite this progress, degree non‐random remains unclear no overall model has been proposed for territory associations. To address issue, a re‐FISH approach was combined with computational analysis pair‐wise associations six pairs human chromosomes (chr #1, 4, 11, 12,...
We present approaches for gesture classification and segmentation by using machine learning on the Kinect sensor's data stream. Our work involved three phases. Firstly we developed from a known vocabulary of gestures in an edited Secondly extended those techniques to detect classify unedited stream which also captures random movements. Thirdly, apply rules filter out movements that were not intentional yet resembled certain our vocabulary.
<b>Background:</b> Leprosy has been officially eliminated from India since December, 2005; still, there are districts and blocks reporting high prevalence indicating ongoing transmission. The present study aimed at determining the current clinical profile of leprosy a tertiary level hospital in Delhi. <b>Materials Methods:</b> A retrospective, record-based was carried out on patients diagnosed registered clinic teaching East district Delhi (April 2007 to March 2012). Data regarding...
Lichen planus is an idiopathic subacute or chronic inflammatory disease of the skin, mucous membranes and nails. We studied clinicopathological profile lichen in Indian population. A total 145 cases histologically diagnosed samples were included. Clinical features like age, sex, type planus, location recorded case record form. Histological studied. Out cases, majority (61%) classical planus. Majority age group 20–40 years showed female preponderance. Most commonly, violaceous lesions...
Lichen scrofulosorum is considered a rare form of cutaneous tuberculosis. Current information based on case reports and series with small number patients.Thirty-nine patients were followed during the period January 1996 to December 2002. Clinical details (age, sex, duration disease, associated tubercular lesions, extent distribution skin lesions), laboratory parameters (hemoglobin, total leucocytic counts, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, Mantoux test, presence BCG scar), response...
Abstract Higher order chromatin organization in concert with epigenetic regulation is a key process that determines gene expression at the global level. The of dynamic domains and their associated protein factors intertwined nuclear function to create higher levels functional zones within cell nucleus. As step towards elucidating dynamics these zones, we have investigated spatial proximities among constellation functionally related sites are found euchromatic regions nucleus including: HP1γ,...
Psoriasis has different clinical variants, which mimic diverse dermatological conditions and may require a histopathological confirmation of the diagnosis. Studies to establish clinicohistopathological concordance (and its determinants), in psoriasis psoriasiform dermatitis are lacking. The present study was designed (a) correlate features dermatitis, (b) identify determinant(s) that contribute diagnosis dermatitis. This prospective involving 100 patients, with single or as one differential...
ABSTRACT Dermatophytosis continues to be a worldwide problem, constituting large bulk of cases attending the dermatology outpatient's department in tropical countries. Variable climatic conditions and multiple etiological agents, whose individual prevalence varies with time, prompted an attempt define current pattern etiologic our locality, compare them earlier studies from different centers. Of consenting patients clinically diagnosed have superficial fungal infections, 1975 were...
Psoriasis is an inflammatory skin disorder characterized by increased activation of CD4(+) T lymphocytes, and systemic local overexpression pro-inflammatory cytokines such as interleukin 2 (IL-2), gamma interferon (IFN-gamma), IL-6 tumour necrosis factor alpha, indicating that immunopathogenesis the disease helper 1 (Th1) mediated. Several studies suggest a pivotal role bacterial superantigens in initiation and/or exacerbation this illness. This study was conducted to assess Th1/Th2...
Mycobacterium leprae is the etiologic pathogen that causes leprosy. The outcome of disease dependent on host genetic background. We investigated association 51 single-nucelotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in anti-inflammatory cytokines (IL-10, TGFB1, IL-6, IL-4, and IL-13) receptors (IL-10RA, IL-10RB, TGFBR1, TGFBR2, IL-6R, IL-4R, IL-5RA, IL-5RB, IL-13RA1) with susceptibility to leprosy a case-control study from New Delhi northern India. This was followed by replication testing associated SNPs...
Background: Although cutaneous tuberculosis (CTB) is well described, it wise to periodically revisit the prevailing clinical and epidemiological features, of this somewhat uncommon entity in developed nations that also usually neglected national control programs countries where a major health problem, maintain heightened awareness as HIV pandemic runs its course. Methods: Medical records 165 cases CTB, diagnosed from 2007 2010, were studied. The diagnosis each was made on basis...
