Introduction In 2018, the National Cancer Institute of Naples has launched GLUBREAST Trial to verify efficacy cyanoacrylate sealing glue prevent or reduce seroma after axillary dissection in breast surgery. The is a synthetic sealant (N-Butyl-2-CyanoAcrylate+Metacryloxisulfolane) biocompatible, CE approved for internal human uses and surgical procedures. assumed mechanism action surgery that would create seal coating operative field occlude lymphatic leaks limit formation. We report a 7-year-old boy with serologic evidence of active Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection who developed transient unilateral hypoglossal nerve palsy, complete recovery within 21 days. This is, to our knowledge, the youngest reported patient isolated palsy in context EBV infection. Acute should be considered early evaluation children twelfth order avoid extensive ancillary testing.
Here we report a case of 50-mm lump within the left breast in 56-year-old man. The patient underwent total mastectomy and sentinel node biopsy. pathology showed low-grade intracystic papillary carcinoma surrounded by ductal situ. Sentinel biopsy was negative. prescribed five years tamoxifen.
Background: Endoscopic-assisted breast surgery represents a minimally invasive technique that allows surgeons to work within small incision through rounded instrument called endoscope. Nowadays, the use of endoscopic-assisted is spreading amongst either for augmentation or reconstruction, although literature still scant. In setting can be performed subcutaneous mastectomy along with direct implant reconstruction as well exchange prosthesis in two-stage surgery. Methods: Sixteen patients...
Skin-reducing mastectomy has been applied to several surgical techniques in which subcutaneous is associated with various types of skin reduction, preservation a lower dermal flap reinforce the inferior lateral seat an implant. The aim study present case series patients pendulous/ptotic and/or large-sized breasts treated for breast cancer at Breast Surgery Unit Istituto Nazionale Tumori IRCCS Fondazione "G. Pascale", Naples, Italy, superomedial pedicle skin-reducing technique, two-stage...
Non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) of the breast is a rare disease and can occur amongst patients affected by Waldenström's Macroglobulinemia (WM). WM an indolent B-cell lymphoproliferative disorder with overall incidence about 1/100,000 in Europe. Breast imaging not specific to that often mimics benign lesions. The diagnosis based on biopsy, presence MYD88L265P somatic mutation immunoglobulin M (IgM) paraprotein detectable setting lymphoplasmacytic infiltration bone marrow (BM) biopsy.A 60-year-old...
Several disorders of the nervous system and some oesophageal diseases cause dysphagia; rarely is this symptom due to anterior cervical osteophytosis. We report a case 64-year-old man with dysphagia for solid foods associated hypotrophy weakness right arm. Magnetic resonance imaging at C6-C7 level showed marked compression spinal cord. CT scan revealed an osteophyte C4-C6 level. The barium-swallow test pharyngo-oesophageal junction. pathogenetic mechanisms are proposed: inflammatory reaction...
Neurosarcoidosis is primarily a disease of the leptomeninges although parenchymal involvement less common. We describe patient presenting with symptoms and signs intracranial hypertension diabetes insipidus. Brain CT scan showed periventricular hypothalamic areas increased density that enhanced after contrast administration. After steroid treatment, neurological resolved but insipidus persisted. MRI study performed 10 days later revealed significant reduction previously demonstrated lesions,...
