Among children who suffer from acute recurrent pancreatitis (ARP) or chronic (CP), (AP) episodes are painful, often require hospitalization, and contribute to disease complications progression. Despite this recognition, there currently no interventions prevent AP episodes. In retrospective cohort study, we assessed the impact of pancreatic enzyme therapy (PERT) use on clinical outcomes among with pancreatic-sufficient ARP CP.
Abstract We evaluated patients aged 12–20 on dupilumab 300 mg weekly for treatment of eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) who had ≥1 follow‐up endoscopy at a tertiary care pediatric hospital ( n = 18). Fifty percent inflammatory EoE 9), 22% fibrostenotic 4), and 28% non‐EoE gastrointestinal disease (EGID) with esophageal involvement 5). Ninety‐four discontinued topical corticosteroids (TCS) 2–4 weeks after starting dupilumab. Eighty‐nine histological response (<15 eosinophils/high‐powered...
While guidelines exist for the diagnosis and management of pediatric celiac disease (CeD), current practices in North America are not well-described. This study aimed to explore practice patterns identify gaps direct future clinical, training research initiatives.
ABSTRACT Objective: The coexistence of celiac disease (CeD) and eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) in pediatric patients has been increasingly recognized. In the current study, we have aimed to assess outcomes therapeutic dietary interventions a cohort with CeD EoE. Methods: Pediatric patient records obtained from University Chicago Celiac Center Database August 2008 July 2013 were reviewed. ABSTRACT Juvenile polyps are the most common gastrointestinal in childhood. Typically, they located colon and present with intermittent painless hematochezia. A few case reports have described juvenile small intestine, all presenting as intussusception requiring surgery. We report an isolated polyp intestine anemia, identified using video capsule endoscopy, removed via enteroscopy.

Objectives: Drug-associated acute pancreatitis (DAP) studies typically focus on single (AP) cases. We aimed to analyze the (1) characteristics, (2) co-risk factors, and (3) reliability of Naranjo scoring system for DAP using INSPPIRE-2 (the INternational Study group Pediatric Pancreatitis: In search a cuRE-2) cohort study recurrent (ARP) chronic (CP) in children. Methods: Data were obtained from ARP with ≥1 episode CP medication exposure ± DAP. Physicians could report multiple risk factors....
Abstract Our team of nutrition experts developed an online curriculum consisting 21 modules to serve as a resource for stand‐alone or supplement existing electives during the Pediatric Gastroenterology fellowship. From April 2020 through January 2023, 2090 were completed by 436 fellows from 75 different programs across North America. The program was accessed most tight restrictions on in‐person learning COVID‐19 pandemic. Overall, participants posttest scores improved baseline pretest...
An 11-year-old asymptomatic boy was admitted after ingesting 3 magnets. X-rays demonstrated stacked 4 mm metallic objects in the stomach, which quickly moved to small bowel. Serial imaging migration and stasis right hemipelvis (Fig. 1A). After bowel clean-out, ileocolonoscopy performed. Intraoperative fluoroscopy pelvis, but not lumen 1B). The patient discharged with plans for enteroscopy. Before procedure, a pelvic computed tomography (CT) localized magnets appendix 2A). appendectomy...
To the Editor: We would like to inform readers of a unique presentation inflammatory bowel disease. evaluated 17-year-old girl who originally presented her primary care provider with chronic abdominal pain that progressed oral intolerance and vomiting.
