The major obstacle in cancer treatment is the resistance of cells to therapies. Nrf2 a transcription factor that regulates cellular defense response and ubiquitously expressed at low basal levels normal tissues due Keap1-dependent ubiquitination proteasomal degradation. Recently, has emerged as an important contributor chemoresistance. High constitutive expression was found many types cancers, creating environment conducive for cell survival. Here, we report identification brusatol unique...

Abstract Worldwide, lung cancer remains a leading cause of mortality. Bruceine D (BD) has been shown to induce pancreatic cell death via several different mechanisms. In this study, we demonstrated that BD inhibited proliferation. Apoptosis and autophagy were the most important mechanisms involved in BD-induced death, complete autophagic flux was observed A549 NCI-H292 cells. addition, significantly improved intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels. BD-mediated apoptosis almost...

Novel covalently porphyrin-functionalized single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) have been synthesized by the reaction of SWNTs with in situ generated porphyrin diazonium compounds. The resulting nanohybrid was characterized spectroscopic (UV-Vis-NIR, FTIR and Raman) microscopic (TEM AFM) methods. Raman absorption spectroscopy data showed that electronic properties modified tubes were mostly retained, without damaging their one-dimensional properties. fluorescence from moiety almost...

Single-walled carbon nanotubes covalently functionalized with porphyrins present enhanced optical limiting effects. Both and SWNTs are good candidates for applications. The porphyrin-covalently offer superior performance to C60, the individual SWNTs, because of a combined nonlinear mechanism photoinduced electron or energy transfer between porphyrin moiety SWNTs.

Abstract Gaudichaudione H (GH) is a naturally occurring small molecular compound derived from Garcinia oligantha Merr . (Clusiaceae), but the full pharmacological functions remain unclear. Herein, potential of GH in disulfidptosis regulation, novel form programmed cell death induced by disulfide stress explored. The omics results indicated that NRF2 signaling could be significantly activated GH. targets are associated with hepatocarcinogenesis and death. Moreover, both glutathione (GSH)...

Oxidative stress plays a critical role in drug-induced liver injury. In recent years, liquiritigenin (LQ), natural flavonoid distributed Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gan Cao), shows protective effects against oxidative hepatotoxicity. However, the underlying mechanism remains unclear. this study, we mainly investigated of NRF2, core transcription factor stress, LQ-induced hepatoprotection. Our results indicated that function LQ to eliminate reactive oxygen species cells was dependent on...

The mulberry tree (Morus alba) has been cultivated in China for thousands of years. Mulberry Diels-Alder-type adducts (MDAAs) are characteristic constituents the genus Morus. unique structure and diverse bioactivities MDAAs have attracted attention researchers. Kuwanon M (KWM) is an MDAA isolated from root bark Morus alba. This research reports growth inhibitory effects KWM on human lung cancer cells its possible mechanism. In A549 NCI-H292 cells, treatment induced suppression cell...
