In this paper, a new encoding approach is proposed to control the JPEG2000 in order reach desired perceptual quality. The method based on vision model that incorporates various masking effects of human visual perception and distortion metric takes spatial spectral summation individual quantization errors into account. Compared with conventional rate-based minimization encoding, provides way generate consistent quality images at lower bit rate.

Live migration of virtual machine has attracted significant attention in recent years. It facilitates system online maintenance, load balancing, fault tolerance and power management. Although pre-copy approach can balance the downtime total time contradictions, it will cap number copying iterations to maximum since writable working set is not guaranteed converge across successive iterations, especially when VM executing a largely read-intensive workload. In this paper, we improve on Xen...

With the explosive growth of multimedia data on Web, content-based image search has attracted considerable attentions in and computer vision community. The most popular approach is based bag-of-visual-words model with invariant local features. Since spatial context information among features critical for visual content identification, many methods exploit geometric clues features, including location, scale, orientation, explicitly post-geometric verification. However, usually only a few...

Game and creation are activities which have good potential for computational thinking skills. In this paper we present T-Maze, an economical tangible programming tool children aged 5–9 to build computer programs in maze games by placing wooden blocks. Through the use of vision technology, T-Maze provides a live interface with real-time graphical voice feedback. We conducted user study 7 using play two levels maze-escape create their own mazes. The results show that is not only easy use, but...

A novel hybrid region-based active contour model is presented to segment medical images with intensity inhomogeneity. The energy functional for the proposed consists of three weighted terms: global term, local and regularization term. total incorporated into a level set formulation from which curve evolution equation derived minimization. Experiments on some synthetic real demonstrate that our more efficient compared localizing contours (LRBAC) method, by Lankton, robust Chan-Vese (C-V) model.

Adolescents aged 12–18 with social anxiety disorder (SAD) manifest various emotional and behavioral problems, among which non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) requires urgent attention. Coping mechanisms for psychological distress significantly impact their vulnerability to NSSI. Understanding the heterogeneity of coping styles adolescents SAD can help identify those at high risk However, existing research provides little insight into this matter. This study aims explore latent profiles in...

Multi-view depth is crucial for describing positioning information in 3D space virtual reality, free viewpoint video, and other interaction- remote-oriented applications. However, cases of lossy compression bandwidth limited remote applications, the quality multi-view video suffers from quantization errors, leading to generation obvious artifacts consequent view rendering during interactions. Considerable efforts must be made properly address these artifacts. In this paper, we propose a...

Background: The high prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in individuals over 65 years old and cognitive deficits caused by T2DM have attracted broad attention. pathophysiological mechanism induced impairments, however, remains poorly understood. Previous studies suggested that the impairments can be attributed not merely to local functional structural abnormalities but also specific brain networks. Thus, we aimed investigate changes global networks selectively affected T2DM....

In this paper, we propose a novel approach to address the problem of huge amount local features for large-scale database. First, in each image are organized into dozens groups by performing standard k-means clustering algorithm on their spatial positions. Second, compact descriptor is generated describe visual information group features. Since, image, thousands reorganized only and described single descriptor, total descriptors database will be greatly reduced. Therefore, can reduce...

Abstract With the increasing number of emergencies, crowd simulation technology has attracted wide attention in recent years. Existing emergencies have shown that individuals are easy to be influenced by others' emotion during evacuation. This will make it easier for people aggregate together and increase security risks.
