Abstract Separation of polar compounds especially with similar polarities is challenging. In the present study, three polarities, including gentiopicroside, sweroside and mangiferin, have been successfully separated from Swertia mussotii by a combination two counter-current chromatography modes. With selected solvent system ethyl acetate/n-butanol/water (8/2/10, v/v), continuous injection mode was firstly employed. As result, 10.4 g mangiferin purity higher than 98% 8 Peak I mainly composed...

Proton transport channels in biological systems are constructed by the specific amino acid residues with hanging carboxylic groups acting as proton donors and acceptors, enabling rapid conduction via Grotthuss mechanism. Hydrogen‐bonded organic frameworks (HOFs) promising candidates for artificially simulating due to their designable structure abundant sources network. However, these protons were usually immobilized within hydrogen bonds between two building blocks, which require a high...

This study presents an efficient strategy based on liquid-liquid extraction, high-speed counter-current chromatography, and preparative HPLC for the rapid enrichment, separation, purification of four anthraquinones from Rheum tanguticum. A new solvent system composed petroleum ether/ethyl acetate/water (4:2:1, v/v/v) was developed extraction crude extract R. As a result, emodin, aloe-emodin, physcion, chrysophanol were greatly enriched in organic layer. In addition, method successfully...

The effects of exogenous application melatonin (MEL) on promoting plant growth and alleviating environmental stresses are already known, but the potential value in crop production is still poorly understood. In this study, seed pre-soaking with MEL winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) yield were investigated a continuous two-year pot experiment another year field experimentation. Results showed that different concentrations (10, 100 500 μM) for 24 h increased grain yields per from 29% to 80%...

In shotgun proteomics, the proteome search engine analyzes mass spectra obtained by experiments, and then a peptide-spectra match (PSM) is reported for each spectrum. However, most of PSMs identified are incorrect, therefore various postprocessing software have been developed reranking peptide identifications. Yet these methods suffer from issues such as dependency on distribution, reliance shallow models, limited effectiveness. this work, we propose AttnPep, deep learning model rescoring...

Meconopsis integrifolia (Maxim.) Franch . is used extensively in traditional Tibetan medicine for its potent anti‐inflammatory properties. In this study, six cyclooxygenase‐2 (COX‐2) inhibitors were purified from M. using high‐speed counter‐current chromatography guided by ultrafiltration liquid (ultrafiltration‐LC). First, ultrafiltration‐LC was performed to profile the COX‐2 The reflux extraction conditions further optimized response surface methodology, and results showed that targeted...

Abstract Oxidative stress has been suggested to play a causative role in the development of obesity‐induced insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes. Given antioxidant potency previously reported xanthones isolated from Swertia mussotii . These natural products were further evaluated against other targets diabetes, aldose reductase α‐glucosidase, order identify novel multitarget‐directed antidiabetic agents. Among 14 screened, 1,3,7,8‐tetrahydroxyxanthone ( 6 ), 1,3,5,8‐tetrahydroxyxanthone 7...

Anthraquinone glycosides, such as chrysophanol 1‐ O ‐β ‐d‐ glucoside, 8‐ and physion are the accepted important active components of Rheum tanguticum Maxim. ex Balf. due to their pharmacological properties: antifungal, antimicrobial, cytotoxic, antioxidant activities. However, an effective method for separation above‐mentioned anthraquinone glycosides from this herb is not currently available. Especially, greater difficulty existed in two isomers glucoside glucoside. This study demonstrated...

We describe a synergistic Cu/secondary amine catalysis for skeletal transformation of an oxindole core into quinolinone skeleton, which generates several structurally new pyridine-fused quinolinones. The reactions allow expansion five-membered lactam ring by radical cation-triggered C–C bond cleavage and enable further intramolecular cyclization with the aim to construct totally distinct skeletons.
