Background Chronic low back pain (CLBP) is a highly prevalent condition among adults and correlated to high levels of pain, disability, lower quality life. Pain neuroscience education (PNE) helps explain the experience can affect psychosocial factors, such as fear movement, anxiety, socioeconomic status, work life satisfaction, etc. More recently, virtual reality (VR) programs have emerged allowing for immersive PNE experiences.

The five-coordinate iron(II) hydride complex (iPrPNP)Fe(H)(CO) (iPrPNP = N[CH2CH2(PiPr2)]2) selectively catalyzes the dehydrogenative intermolecular coupling of alcohols and secondary amines to form tertiary amides. This is most productive base-metal catalyst for amidation reported date, in some cases achieving up 600 turnovers. works well sterically undemanding or cyclic substrates particularly effective synthesis formamides from methanol. However, performance declines rapidly with...

Methanol is a crucial precursor for the preparation of many high-value commercial chemicals and synthesizing it from an inexpensive renewable carbon source such as dioxide (CO2) could have significant benefits. Herein, homogeneous iron(II) pincer complex catalytic generation methanol CO2 H2 via two-step process described. The reduction occurs through initial coupling with amine to give formamide. Subsequently, formamide undergoes deaminative hydrogenation afford regenerate amine. A net...

Vascular health factors frequently co-occur with Alzheimer's disease (AD). A better understanding of how systemic vascular and cerebrovascular intersects clinical pathological AD may inform prevention treatment opportunities. To establish the Vanderbilt Memory & Aging Project, a case-control longitudinal study investigating brain aging, describe baseline methodology participant characteristics. From September 2012 to November 2014, 335 participants age 60- 92 were enrolled, including 168...

Substituted ureas have numerous applications but their synthesis typically requires the use of highly toxic starting materials. Herein we describe first base-metal catalyst for selective symmetric via dehydrogenative coupling methanol with primary amines. Using a pincer supported iron catalyst, range was generated isolated yields up to 80% (corresponding catalytic turnover 160) and H2 as sole byproduct. Mechanistic studies indicate stepwise pathway beginning dehydrogenation give...
