We report measurements of the branching fractions and direct CP asymmetries (A_{CP}) for B->K pi, pi KK decays (but not pi^0 pi^0) based on final data sample 772x10^6 B B-bar pairs collected at Upsilon(4S) resonance with Belle detector KEKB asymmetric-energy e^+ e^- collider. set a 90% confidence-level upper limit K^+- K^-+ 2.0x10^{-7}; all other are observed ranging from 10^{-6} to 10^{-5}. In $B^0/B^0-bar -> K^+-\pi^-+ mode, we confirm Belle's previously reported large A_{CP} value -0.069...
In this paper, we propose a channel-hopping MAC protocol called dynamic hopping (DH-MAC) to improve the utilization of spectrum in cognitive radio networks. DH-MAC, each secondary user (SU) switches its operation channel with sequence which is adaptive activity primary users (PUs). Our proposed DH-MAC mechanism enjoys following merits. 1) It needs no dedicated common control for operation. 2) supports multiple rendezvous simultaneous transmission pairs SUs within interfering range. 3) The...
With advances in wireless communications and global position system-enabled devices (such as cellular phones, PDAs car PCs), vehicle route guidance systems gradually become indispensable equipments for more automobile drivers because of its great convenience. Conventional are designed to direct a along the shortest path from origin destination. However, usually, does not result smallest travel time dynamic traffic conditions on roadways. Therefore state-of-the-art incorporate real-time...
2-Alkyl(1)alkyl(2)-type aliphatic side chains with a branching point position at the C2-position (such as 2-ethylhexyl or 2-octayldodecyl) have been widely implanted into numerous donor–acceptor conjugated copolymers for solution processable transistors organic solar cells. However, tertiary site located second carbon inevitably imposes steric hindrance that twists main-chain coplanarity and attenuates interchain interactions. In this research, we developed new two-dimensonal...
Hollow structural sections (HSS) are used as columns in frame systems because of their ability to efficiently resist multiaxial loads. While the majority previous studies special moment frames (SMFs) focused on wide flange columns, HSS can provide a means increasing versatility SMFs. In order fully explore use SMFs, collapse behavior subject combined axial and lateral loading is computationally studied. Seventeen different profiles selected cover range local global slenderness ratios,...
The collapse behavior of individual deep columns subjected to realistic loading and boundary conditions is investigated in this study. Loading protocols that are representative seismic demands on first-story developed through simulations complete frames collapse-inducing loading. A set cover a wide range both global local slenderness ratios commercially available sections used investigate codify the effects three key parameters: level axial loading, (L/ry), web (h/tw). Current design...
The seismic collapse behavior of 4-story and 8-story steel special moment frames (SMFs) with deep columns is investigated using computational simulation. models used are capable modeling local global instabilities explicitly representing both sidesway vertical behaviors. Three key factors that affect the potential studied: (1) column lateral bracing; (2) level gravity load; (3) section properties. It shown that, even when they satisfy current provisions, can suffer early instability, leading...
Recent experimental and computational studies have shown that the inelastic behavior of deep steel columns, where cross-section depth is substantially greater than flange width, not yet well understood. To address this shortcoming, detailed finite element models are validated using available data, used to study response columns subjected combined axial lateral loading. Two loading protocols considered: (1) members undergo monotonic under a constant compressive force until failure (load then...
The development of micro-acoustic wave sensor in biosensing created the need for further investigations surface propagation a viscous liquid loaded layered medium. In this paper, we employed sextic formalism waves to study effect on dispersion and attenuation characteristics relation single-layered anisotropic half-space is given. Numerical examples Rayleigh Love cases Cu/Fe (isotropic) SiO2/Si (anisotropic) with are calculated discussed. [S0021-8936(00)01902-4]
Extraction of coupling modes (COM) parameters from the manufacturing process a surface acoustic wave device (SAW) is important in practice. In this study, we employed an inverse algorithm to recover COM measured admittance one-port SAW resonator. For completeness, equations, P-matrix representation and related have been summarized. The resonator was derived based on representation. One-port two-port filters were fabricated responses measured. simplex method then used determine inversely....
Wide-flange (W-shape) steel members are known to have initial geometric imperfections. A three-dimensional noncontact laser-scanning technique is used measure the imperfection fields in fourteen specimens. spectral approach that models imperfections each plate of W-shape member as a two-dimensional random field employed characterize and capture existence periodicity them. The proposed modeling along with traditional modal study sensitivity numerical studies conducted at both system levels...
Seismic design provisions for steel moment frame buildings have undergone substantial changes over the past half century. Despite anticipated benefits of enforcing newer codes, it is not yet fully known how evolution seismic has changed risk associated with use. To address this shortcoming, a loss assessment performed two-, four, and eight-story prototype frames designed using from three eras spanning Frames different vintages differ significantly in material properties, welding practices,...

The use of deep wide flange steel columns is prevalent in seismic zones. However, their inelastic behavior, general, and collapse capacity, particular, under combined axial lateral loading are not yet well understood. In order to address this shortcoming, the effect drift history on performance subjected various levels constant force with different boundary conditions investigated. Detailed finite element models that validated using available experimental data employed study. Three protocols...
The collapse potential of a four-story steel special moment frame (SMF) under set ground motions is evaluated using high fidelity computational simulation. SMF designed in accordance with current design requirements and employs reduced beam sections deep columns. model capable explicitly accounting for the interaction local global instability within SMF. A study performed to investigate effect level gravity loads on response frame. Even though all columns satisfy highly ductile seismic...
Cyclic flange local buckling typically occurs when plastic hinges form in the beams and columns of special moment resisting frames subject to seismic shaking. The response is affected by significant fluctuations axial stress that occur such members. While beam has been thoroughly investigated past for monotonic loading situations, effect cyclic on member capacity not yet well understood. In order address this shortcoming, ten half-scale T-section specimens are tested under a configuration...
