Abstract Carrier localization effect has been observed in GaN/AlGaN multiquantum wells (MQWs) by analyzing the temperature dependent photoluminescence (PL) results. Specifically, two neighbouring peaks can be seen PL spectra with an abnormal variation when increasing temperature. Abstract Quasi‐one‐dimensional gold grating with Si 3 N 4 cap layer has been studied to enhance the optical coupling of AlGaN/GaN quantum well infrared photodetector (QWIP) by finite element method (FEM).
