The world is under pressure from the novel COVID-19 pandemic. Indonesia fourth most populous country in and predicted to be affected significantly over a longer time period. Our paper aims provide detailed reporting analyses of present rapid responses COVID-19, between January March 2020, Indonesia. We particularly highlight taken by governments, non-government organisations community. outline gaps limitations responses, based on our analysis media contents, government speeches reports,...
The southern and northern Japanese populations of the medaka fish provide useful tools to gain insights into comparative genomics speciation vertebrates, because they can breed produce healthy fertile offspring despite their highly divergent genetic backgrounds compared with those human-chimpanzee. Comparative analysis has suggested that such large differences between two are caused by higher molecular evolutionary rates among medakas than hominids. argument, however, was based on assumption...
Recent studies have revealed that a cilium‐generated liquid flow in the node has crucial role establishment of left‐right (LR) axis mouse. In fish, Kupffer's vesicle (KV), teleost‐specific spherical organ attached to tail region, is known an equivalent mouse during LR formation. However, at present, there been no report asymmetric gene expressed KV under control fluid flow. Here we earliest teleost KV, medaka charon , and its regulation. Charon member Cerberus/DAN family proteins, first...
Comprising more than 800 extant species, the class Cephalopoda (octopuses, squid, cuttlefish, and nautiluses) is a fascinating group of marine conchiferan mollusks. Recently, first cephalopod genome (of
Biofouling poses a significant impact to the durability of offshore structures and vessels, yet its on cement-based concrete in marine environments remains underexplored. This study investigated biofouling growth substrates both microbial biofilms (microfouling) up macrofouling their effect cement based surface. The discussion is supported by literature review contextualize findings. type microorganisms forming are influenced specific environment, substrate characteristics, immersion...
Abstract The Japanese turban snail Lunella coreensis is sensitive to ocean currents due its short pelagic larval stage and moderate dispersal ability, making it an ideal model for studying genetic diversity shaped by paleoclimatic shifts. In this study, we analyzed the mitochondrial genes COI 12S of museum samples collected from various coasts across Japan identified 10 haplogroups divided into Pacific Ocean Sea clades, influenced Kuroshio Tsushima currents. Divergence time estimates...
Various shapes of gastropod shells have evolved ever since the Cambrian. Although theoretical analyses morphogenesis exist, molecular basis shell development remains unclear. We compared expression patterns decapentaplegic (dpp) gene in gland and mantle tissues at various developmental stages between coiled-shell non-coiled-shell gastropods. We analyzed dpp for two limpets Patella vulgata Nipponacmea fuscoviridis, dextral wild-type sinistral mutant lineage pond snail Lymnaea stagnalis. The...
SUMMARY To dissect the molecular mechanism of head specification in basal chordate amphioxus, we investigated function Dkk3, a secreted protein Dickkopf family, which is expressed anteriorly early embryos. Amphioxus Dkk3 has three domains characteristic proteins—an N‐terminal serine rich domain and two C‐terminal cysteine‐rich (CRDs). In addition, amphioxus TGFβ‐receptor 2 domain, not present proteins other species. As vertebrate have been reported to regulate either Nodal signaling or...
Abstract We have isolated and characterized a ventralized mutant in medaka (the Japanese killifish; Oryzias latipes ), which turned out to mutation the chordin gene. The exhibits ventralization of body axis, malformation axial bones, over‐bifurcation yolk sac blood vessels, laterality defects internal organs. variability phenotypes, depending on culture temperature, from embryos with slightly phenotype those without any head trunk structures. Taking advantages these variable severe we...
The medaka fish ( Oryzias latipes ) is an emerging model organism for which a variety of unique developmental mutants have now been generated. Our recent mutagenesis screening the isolated mutant that develops fatty liver at larval stages. Positional cloning identified responsible gene as abcb7 . Abcb7, mitochondrial ABC (ATP binding cassette) half‐transporter, has implicated in iron metabolism. Recently, human Abcb7 was found to be mutated X‐linked sideroblastic anemia with cerebellar...
The pearl oyster Pinctada fucata has great potential as a model system for lophotrochozoan developmental biology research. is an important commercial resource, and significant body of primary research on this species emphasized its basic aquaculture such larval growth, aquaculture, formation quality improvement, shell formation, biomineralization. Recently, draft genome sequence was published, many experimental resources are currently being developed, bioinformatics tools, embryo larva...
Despite being a member of the shelled mollusks (Conchiferans), most members extant cephalopods have lost their external biomineralized shells, except for basally diverging Nautilids. Here, we report result our study to identify major Shell Matrix Proteins and domains in Nautilid Nautilus pompilius, order gain general insight into evolution Conchiferan Proteins. In do so, performed multiomics on shell N. by conducting transcriptomics its mantle tissue proteomics matrix. Analyses obtained data...
In environmental conservation, mangrove forests play a crucial role. Retransplanting propagules, however, faces challenges, and success rates are notably low. Achieving an optimal protector for balancing strength without impeding growth, is challenging. Mangrove propagules require temporary with balance, neither too weak nor strong, to shield them from current waves which difficult. We propose using pervious concrete pots high-volume fly ash activated low NaOH concentrations. The...
SUMMARY The vitamin A derived morphogen retinoic acid ( RA ) is known to function in the regulation of tissue proliferation and differentiation. Here, we show that exogenous applied late larvae invertebrate chordate amphioxus can reverse some differentiated states. Although treatment with antagonist BMS 009 has no obvious effect on amphioxus, administration excess alters morphology posterior end body. anus closes over, gut contents accumulate hindgut. In addition, larval tail fin regresses,...
Specific microbial agents such as bacteria are often used in concrete to improve its performance. Some microbes act self-healing close cracks concrete, and increase strength. This paper presents a study observe the effects of microbe addition two types mixtures fly ash-based, geopolymer paste, portland cement paste containing ash. Furthermore, investigation was conducted compare properties each compressive strengths, specific gravities, porosity, microstructures, XRay diffracting properties....
Abstract The paper nautilus or greater argonaut, Argonauta argo, is a species of octopods which characterized by its pelagic lifestyle and the presence protective spiral-shaped shell-like eggcase in females. To reveal genomic background how adapted to acquired eggcase, we sequenced draft genome species. size was 1.1 Gb, smallest among cephalopods known date, with top 215 scaffolds (average length 5,064,479 bp) covering 81% (1.09 Gb) total assembly. A 26,433 protein-coding genes were...
In this paper, we present the result of our study on effect steam curing to chloride ion penetration in geopolymer concrete. Class F fly ash was activated using sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and silicate (Na2SiO3). The concrete specimens were then steam-cured at 40°C, 60°C, 80°C room temperature 24 hours. treatment followed by wet for 28 days, immersion all salt water durations 30, 60, 90 days. Cylindrical prepared compressive strength, penetration, pH, porosity tests. A 16 mm-steel bar fixed...
