Bacteria develop a broad range of phage resistance mechanisms, such as prevention adsorption and CRISPR/Cas system, to survive predation. In this study, Pseudomonas aeruginosa PA1 strain was infected with lytic PaP1 phage-resistant mutants were selected. A high percentage (~30%) these displayed red pigmentation phenotype (Red mutant). Through comparative genomic analysis, one Red mutant PA1r found have 219.6 kb fragment deletion, which contains two key genes hmgA galU related the observed...
We isolated and characterized a new Pseudomonas aeruginosa myovirus named PaP1. The morphology of this phage was visualized by electron microscopy its genome sequence ends were determined. Finally, genomic proteomic analyses performed. PaP1 has an icosahedral head with apex diameter 68–70 nm contractile tail length 138–140 nm. is linear dsDNA molecule containing 91,715 base pairs (bp) G+C content 49.36% 12 tRNA genes. A strategy to identify the designed. 1190 bp terminal redundancy. 157 open...
Recent developments to microwave tube simulator suite (MTSS) are reported in this paper. The MTSS is a full-featured tightly integrated software package for analysis and design. It includes commercial grade user interface three physics simulators. electron optics finite-element (FE) 2-D 3-D electrostatic steady-state beam trajectory code that has been used design optics, including gun collector. High-frequency circuit full FE computational electromagnetic aims get the accurate wave character...
Whole genome sequencing of a novel Pseudomonas aeruginosa temperate bacteriophage PaP3 has been completed. The contains 45 503 bp with GC content 52.1%, without more than 100 sequence hitting homologue in all sequenced phage genomes. A total 256 open reading frames (ORFs) are found the genome, and 71 ORFs predicated as coding (CDS). All CDS divided into two opposite direction groups, both groups meet at bidirectional terminator site locating near middle genome. is dsDNA 5'-protruded cohesive...
Terminase proteins are responsible for DNA recognition and initiation of packaging in phages. We previously reported the genomic sequence a temperate Pseudomonas aeruginosa phage, PaP3, determined its precise integration site host bacterial chromosome. In this study, we present detailed functional identification terminase phage PaP3. The purified large subunit p03 was demonstrated to possess ATPase nuclease activities, as well ability bind specific when it is unassembled. addition, small...
As a potential alternative to antibiotics, phages can be used treat multi-drug resistant bacteria. such, the biological characteristics of should investigated utilize them as effective antimicrobial agents. In this study, phage PaoP5, lytic virus that infects Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1, was isolated and genomically characterized. PaoP5 comprises an icosahedral head with apex diameter 69 nm contractile tail length 120 nm. The genome is linear dsDNA molecule containing 93,464 base pairs (bp)...
A conical nanobrush target is proposed to improve the total proton energy-conversion efficiency in beam acceleration and investigated by two-dimensional particle-in-cell (2D-PIC) simulations. Results indicate a significant enhancement of number energies hot electrons through rear side target. Compared with plain target, field increases several times. We observe enhancements average energy laser-proton conversion 105%. This attributed both configurations. The well collimated divergence angle...
To improve the energy coupling efficiency from laser to forward hot electrons, we propose a conical nanolayered target (CNT) and investigate by two-dimensional particle-in-cell simulations. Compared with target, is enhanced 34% more than 68%. Detailed simulations indicate that this enhancement attributed both oblique incidence focusing of target. Moreover, CNT collimates electrons better. The proposed may serve as new method for enhancing efficiency.
Summary In this study, effects of two organic acids spraying on the growth profiles, phytic acid content, antioxidant capacity, phytase activity and related genes expression during mung bean germination were investigated. Results showed that both oxalic malic effective ways to improve degradation by inducing expression, but no significant difference was found in content between treatments. The contents total phenolics MDA (malondialdehyde) higher, whereas ascorbic sprout length higher. Both...
Toxoplasma gondii , an opportunistic protozoan, infects one-third of people worldwide and could lead to serious outcomes in immunodeficient or immunocompromised populations. The present study aimed investigate the prevalence risk factors for T. infection among high-risk populations Jiangsu Province, eastern China. We conducted a cross-sectional survey 4 categories 13 prefectures including HIV/AIDS patients, livestock breeding/processing (B/P) staff, pregnant women, cancer patients. detected...
Abstract Two silicon compounds including (3‐glycidoxypropyl)trimethoxysilane (A187) and (3‐glycidoxypropyl)methyldiethoxysilane (W78) were used studied as reactive diluents for aluminum (III) acetylacetonate (Alacac) accelerated epoxy/anhydride impregnating resin systems. The dielectric performances characterized by the dissipation factor, constant, volume resistivity, breakdown strength. curing behaviors thermal properties of cured impregnants Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy,...
In this study, a secondary electron emission (SEE) module is updated to Alioth, 3-D electromagnetic (EM) particle-in-cell (PIC) software for simulating the multipactor. To solve problems of low computational efficiency and overburden caused by considerable number electrons, particle merging scheme based on Russian roulette introduced. The multipactor process an impedance transformer investigated from generation seed electrons saturation through PIC method combined with scheme. time evolution...
